    I Miss Jake W Prestigious

I see the resemblance. given I've only played XCX from monolith, but their worldbuilding is ridiculous. BotW looks like a smaller but more focused version of that.

Intelligent Systems is probably already working on new Fire Emblem

Can Nintendo please change their minds and bundle Zelda for the $299? Lol

Are we talking about the successor to Fates or the FE Warriors?

Warriors is by a different developer

    so much for them! Prestigious

i was a little bummed out when they said it was a warriors game. those games get kind of old pretty quickly, it's just button mashing to kill a bunch of hordes of enemies, they look really cool but theres not too much depth.

Yeah, I'm not really interested in it. I didn't even play Hyrule Warriors.

Well it's too early for a real new FE game, and this one won't make a proper one come out any later

I've watched the new breath of the wild trailer 20 times already. I'm thinking the game takes place in the same timeline as link to the past. Not sure if it takes place between OoT and LttP or after LttP though.

I think the Zelda timeline is just a thinly veiled marketing construct :crylaugh:

would you mind elaborating on that? the timeline is something I've never really seen Nintendo harp on. It's briefly brought up in a book from 5-6 yrs ago. Always seemed like something the hardcore fans of the series cared more about than Nintendo imo

@The Lucky Moose not trying to be defensive or confrontational...I've seen you post a lot of well thought out stuff in vg thread and I'm genuinely interested in why you think that

It was largely a thing that fans started speculating about, because they like to go deeper than Nintendo ever will and anyone ever should, haha. Nintendo, sensing something, encouraged it and has retroactively developed a weird timeline to fit all the games. It could be that they had this stuff in mind from the beginning, but I doubt it. I think people are trying to get more from the Zelda lore than is actualy there. It's fine though haha, no shots.

I think it's definitely possible that they just jumped onto something fans made up but I do think they're at least sort of working to one now. Wind Waker very clearly called back to Ocarina and Skyward Sword was obviously meant to be a beginning and set up the idea that they're all connected.

I'm kinda into Fire Emblem Warriors. They're super shallow and repetitive, of course, but sometimes I just want to mindlessly mow through enemies while I'm listening to a podcast or something. I liked Dragon Quest's version a lot and people seem to like the Zelda one. I'm open to picking up a Fire Emblem version.

Of course I want a new, real Fire Emblem too, wouldn't be surprised to hear something about one in the near-ish future. It's been a little over a year and a half since Fates was out in Japan and the series has typically been on a two, occasionally three year dev cycle. Probably on the longer side this time because of a new console. Mostly I just want IntSys to give me a new Wario Ware, could see them doing a lot of cool stuff with the JoyCons.

I guess I wasn't the only one screwed over by the weather the past few days because my Gamestop still had pre-orders this morning. Snagged the last grey Switch + Zelda, guess they still have like 7 or 8 of the neon in stock.

Will Zelda be available digitally or is the cartridge thingy required?

The Switch doesn't even do voice chat. You have to use the app on your phone. Is this all a joke?

Wario Ware would have been a lot cooler than 1, 2 Switch

    or Rhythm Heaven of course.
