Generally the best strategy. Games can be cheaper too.

Why would they go with different colors like that?

I actually prefer the way the Wii U version looks. The blue light makes it look all mystical. Kind of reminds me of Silent Hill HD where they made everything clearer by lessening the fog and it lost a lot of the atmosphere.

I'm just going to get Zelda on WiiU and wait on Switch until Mario comes out. Zelda, PS4, and my 3DS should keep me busy.

the Switch is my entry back to Nintendo for the first time since Gamecube (that I loved dearly). if I had a Wii U maybe I'd stick with it, but since I want back in to the Nintendo world I saw this as a perfect chance. all I'll need really are Zelda, Mario Kart 8, and maybe Splatoon until Super Mario. after that goodbye world. those games and system combined with my Xbox One is absolutely perfect. super excited for March 3rd.

Splatoon is a must! I was iffy on it, but it turned out to be my most played WiiU game.

Just got to watch it now. A lot of great looking games for and some amazing tech in that machine. Can't wait.

Also, I know it's a given, but Mario and Zelda look so good.

Looking at both Zelda and Xenoblade 2, I think it's very obvious that Monolith and the Zelda team have been working together for a while, which is very cool

These next two months are going to be rough. I can't stop thinking about Zelda.

For someone at this point in their life who can't really do, or want to do, mobile gaming a lot is a Switch even really worth it at this point? Zelda is what brings me over to getting Nintendo consoles and the BotW was developed for WiiU anyways. I held off on getting the WiiU, am I better off just buying that?

The Switch is a home console, you can keep it connected to your tv if you want. Zelda looks, and probably plays better on the Switch, also your not going to find a significant price difference between the WiiU and the Switch. Get the Switch

I've always been a huge fan of anything Mario or Donkey Kong, so I've always jumped at getting the newest Nintendo console. Now my Wii U is broken and I travel (for work) now more than I ever have in my whole life, so getting the new console that is also portable works out great for me.... Also, I was sold the second I saw Grand Theft Mario.

I was aware the Switch was a home console as well but the WiiU is still $300? The thing's been out for like 4 years at this point.

Yeah that gamepad is expensive to produce, and the low production meant it never got any cheaper. They still sell WiiU at a loss, so they could never afford to drop the price.

I'll have to give it a try! local multiplayer I'm assuming?

Against my better judgment and continued mild pessimism about the system (though it's lessened some since the night of the full reveal), I still put in a preorder for a Switch just because it was up on Amazon and hey, there's no downside since I can still cancel whenever. I'll be more sure whether I want one or not when more of the OS level/internet/VC details start to come out and when the digital/eShop lineup starts to shape up.

I also got in a preorder for the Zelda SE because I want that Switch case pretty badly.

I'd say yeah just get the Wii U for now. The Switch might be completely skippable depending on how things turn out.

No the local multiplayer in the first game wasn't that great. The online was handled very well with constant updates and tournaments. I was straight up addicted.

Haha, I didn't see your post. Just giving my thoughts. I saw someone say they got a Wii U and 5 games with a pro-controller for less than a Switch, I got mine two years ago with 3 games and a pro-controller for less than a Switch. Plus there's a good library of games on the Wii U that would last at least until the good exclusives start coming out for the Switch.

I'm in the same boat as you guys. March is too far away.

I'm optimistic about Switch. It would probably have a rough start but as devs tinker shit out, I'm sure its potential will unlock. The control scheme is similar enough to current consoles, which would make it less of a hassle to develop for. And unlike Wii U, this thing is actually portable so there are reasons to consider making games for Switch despite lacking technical punch.

On a side note, Intelligent Systems has been quiet lately? I'm rooting for something big. Advance Wars on switch please!
