Hollow Knight: Silksong announced for Switch, sequel to Hollow Knight - Nintendo Everything

 

SEQUEL? they said it was dlc. Holy smokes!

 

Given the usual sales numbers of DLCs which are often terrible compared to the associated game’s main sales numbers, turning something like this into a sequel is the smarter move.

 

Well yeah but 3 things:

1) it was a stretch goal
2) didn’t they specifically say they’ll be announcing dlc?
3) hollow knight was super cheap so... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I was hoping for a more bite sized hollow knight game as I found it a little overwhelming. I’m not even half way through

That Zelda look is a fairly traditional look, reminiscent of like some styles of European animation I can’t name

 

honestly, yesterday’s Direct could have been their E3 presentation and i would have been satisfied. so much stuff to be excited for, i fear adding any more hype to 2019 may kill me.

except the lack of Animal Crossing details

 

Looks like an Elf straight out of The classic Rudolph cartoon.

 

The success of Hollow Knight at this point is probably more than they expected, so I'm not surprised it's a full sequel really

more excited for that than anything in the direct

 

upon revisiting the Link’s Awakening trailer, i like the art more. my main concern was a lack of detail on first look, but as i rewatch, a lot of stuff particularly the architectural detail looks real good. some stuff still looks p bad though. in the shot where Link is navigating the thorns, it’s the same little thorn asset reused on each square. that was fine for GB hardware but it feels lazy here for a game that is gonna cost is $40-60

 

I'm very excited about Link's Awakening. I never played the original because my parents wouldn't let us get any video games until I was in high school (which is probably why I've owned multiples systems ever since college...), so it'll be like a brand new Zelda game for me!

I'm bummed about the absences of Animal Crossing and Luigi's Mansion, but I kind of figured those were going to be fall releases at the earliest. I wonder if the next Direct will be in early June around E3, or if they'll do another before then?

 

I kinda feel like (and I get why it's the case!) it's just weird seeing Link look so lively but also appear stuck on a track. When I see stills I like the style, when I see it in motion it feels super awkward

 

But I'm not gonna not buy it over that so who cares

 

I'm not really a Zelda fan, but their art style is always interesting and inviting to me. This new one looks cute as hell.

 

Animal Crossing is much bigger than most people think, it might just be the focus at e3 together with Pokemon

 

i think many people know how big Animal
Crossing is, i think most were just expecting a date or even a Bayonetta 3-esque “its coming along”

 

Wild World sold almost 12 million copies lol

We definitely had a lengthy conversation on here last year because people did not know. Since then new people came in. Same thing happened with Splatoon.

 

i also think the absolute bath Nintendo took on the Animal Crossing amiibo paints a bad picture to the uninformed. those things are fucking everywhere practically being given away.

 

Just finished BoTW. Why did I beat Ganon on my first try but it took me like 50 to beat the Lynels on the way up lol.

What a game. What an experience.
