Yeah I think it's kinda ugly when it's attached but I kinda like them as controllers. Haha that makes no sense

 

yeah I'm really all about that grey. Maybe if the entire console was a different color like DS variations

How many times are people honestly going back and replaying NES/SNES games? Besides like the heavy hitters like Mario, etc... I just don't see huge replay value in a lot of those games.

 

Yeah doubt I'd need more than a month with whatever is free and if I love it enough to play outside of the free period I guess I will *gasp* just buy it

 

There are tons of PS+ and GWG I haven't touched, but they were free so I downloaded them; once I clear my backlog I can play them at any given time. This is a bad move by Nintendo which ever way you try to paint it.

 

PS+ and GWG have made people pretty spoiled IMO

I get wanting free games, it's a great feature of those services, but it's caused a lot of entitlement in the gaming community. People demanding AAA titles to be free after a while, it's just not something I care this much about.

That's because Nintendo is blowing it with pricing so we expect more for the price. Sony did it right and dominated sales for many months straight as a result.

 

It looks like they are out at Target now too. Nintendo always does this where there is all this hype and momentum and they let it all fade away fairly quickly due to lack of interesting software. At least this time there is a huge game coming out with it. They need to sustain interest which they haven't done since the N64.

got a pre-order in at GameStop with Zelda and now I am hit with pre-order remorse for some reason...

 

Went back and turned in $100 in 3ds games. They still weren't sold out. Quite surprised.

 

after rewatching the trailer that remorse has evaporated.

I ended up pre ordering the Special Edition (everything but the sword statue, I just have no place for it to go frankly).

But congrats!

 

I actually ordered the special edition too. I don't care about the statue. I really wish they would stop putting those in collectors editions. They are a waste.

 

My plan now is to buy the Switch sometime this summer, and wait for Mario Odyssey to drop (pre-ordered that today on Amazon).

My Wii U and Switch copies of Breath of the Wild will be here in 6 weeks, and I'll just play it on Wii U with the Pro Controller I already have.

I love my Wii U, tbh. Waiting about 3-6 months is a good amount of time before throwing down 300ish on the Switch. The killer app is Mario, honestly. Zelda will sell a bunch of consoles, but Mario Odyssey is going to catapult Nintendo to huge sales figures over the holidays like they've not seen since the original Wii.

Good thing you added "I hope." I really think that will only happen if they drop it to $249 WITH Mario for the holiday season. Ps4 with uncharted 4 will be $199 by then for goodness sake.

 

I can just buy Zelda on the Wii U when it comes out. I don't have much incentive to buy a Switch at launch. Not with that lineup and price.

Maybe down the road I'll pick up a Switch once Mario's and Donkey Kong's and hopefully Metroid's become available.

 

Pre-ordering today, can't fucking wait. Thanks Nintendo.
