Man every time Golden Sun gets mentioned in this thread I get so happy. Lots of memories of staying up in bed after the lights were out playing that with one of those light accessories y’all were talking about a fee pages back

 

Golden Sun is a game I loved that I kinda don't wanna see come back.

Like a port so I can play the first 2 again on Switch? Sure. But like a new game? I think I'm good.

I only recently heard of it through people wanting some character in smash but never played it and didn’t know it existed when it was around

 

Is golden sun that game where if you played outside in daylight it was easier? And when the cartridge didn’t get any light it became dark in the game and enemies were tougher?

I recently tried to start the DS Golden Sun and didn't even remember I had put almost 4 hrs into it already lol. Maybe it'll click one day but it just doesn't feel the same as the first two

In America we got Boktai & Boktai 2 (GBA) as well as Lunar Knights (DS). Boktai 3 was a Japan exclusive.

I remember really enjoying it, but I couldn’t accurately tell you if it was a good game or not

 

omg lol, if i knew this game existed back then i would probably have played it a lot. i struggled playing Revenant Wings on the DS but it looks like this is simpler. RTS on a handheld is always interesting to me.

man, this takes me back. I remember getting really sick and had to miss school for a few days but it was worth it because I just played Riviera on GBA nonstop (meaning I didn't get proper rest so I didn't get better haha.

some other random shit i played:
- Knights in the Nightmare, a lot of people were enjoying it, but then I tried it and didn't like it at all i think i tried a few more times on and off but really couldn't get into it
- there was a robot-themed RTS in the DS (I think) where you had a commander and captured supply points which then produced units (or something like that). i totally forgot the name.
- i also remembered forcing myself to play Zone of the Enders: Fist of Mars because I wanted so badly to play a sci-fi themed game but then I couldn't understand anything so I keep repeating the same tutorial over and over (and I still didn't get it) so I gave up
- there was a tactics game on DS or GBA that was a spinoff of a popular RTS franchise. I can't remember the name for some reason, but it was medieval-themed

I don't remember the overworld theme but any time I hear the words "overworld theme" I instantly think of Final Fantasy 6's
