I mean I get what he's saying, I don't think he's saying "how can anyone love BOTW" but talking about putting it in an "all time" tier which is definitely not something that's captured by reviews alone (especially since everyone's quick to the trigger with reviews without factoring in lasting power)

Not saying I 100% agree (I get why people have it so high up there though I'm not in the same boat) but I don't think it's necessarily fair to make em sound like the same arguments haha

 

the strong language of “i cannot comprehend” sends this into a much different level of argument than like any other wording would have, it’s inherently condescending even if the qualifier is “i’m not trying to be condescending”

it’s nothin personal @Vase Full Of Rocks but after how many times you’ve made sure to say Star Fox Adventures is better than any Zelda game I’M COMIN FOR YA

 

Plus, video games are art and saying "I can't comprehend how this could be someone's favorite," or something like that is as pretentious and belittling as saying "I can't comprehend this being someone's favorite painting."

 

Now that's not fair, I say that about paintings all the time

 

Actually with paintings it might be the opposite, looking at it and being like "I don't get it" makes complete sense to me whereas the rude people are the ones that are just like "you just don't have the artistic taste to appreciate this" and scoffs over a tobacco pipe, performing various monocle adjustments as they admire a painting that is a blue dot on a canvas

That looks real but doesn't include 7 and 9 (which 9 is the only important one in this batch)

 

Also no one believes a SE release date until it's close so we need confirmation that it's still happening anyway

 

I think maybe it was just improper wording on my part? As I said before, if BOTW is your favorite, that's cool and whatnot, but I just won't ever to be able to personally connect with it in anyway to truly understand why. I'm having a difficult time putting it into words. The best way I can compare it is the difference between empathy and sympathy. I also don't think "I can't comprehend" is inherently condescending because there are many people who just actually struggle to see didffdiff viewpoints and their brain processes things differently. The way I said it may have been condescending, but that was unintentional on my part.

Also, the whole "SFA is the best Zelda game" is mostly a joke. I do enjoy that game, but because it's not a Star Fox game.

 

Oh, btw. Sora is being announced for Smash today.

 

I really love BotW, but then I'm also someone who has spent thousands of hours playing various Elder Scrolls titles. That said, I really wish they'd done the ending differently. Namely, I hate how your saves just put you back to before you defeat Ganon. I just want to gaze upon the majesty of Hyrule Castle without all of Ganon's corruption all over everything!
