how am i supposed to not think about zelda for the next six weeks

hype level for that game is through the roof right now

 

I don't see any mii in the Mk8 character selection. Battle mode is goat though.

 

I need a Wii U/Switch comparison video for Zelda asap. I really don't want to buy a switch but I also don't want to play a super inferior version of my most anticipated game.

 

Do other consoles port games like Nintendo does? I feel kinda weird about dropping 70 on Kart for wii u and now having to do it again

lol GameStop already sold out of pre-orders. Nintendo never, ever, ever, ever, ever learns. I would be wary about pre-ordering from pretty much anywhere if you didn't do so early this morning. You will likely not get your console on launch day, no matter what the retailer says, because the supply won't be there.

 

Amazon has them available for pre-order again.

 

Just because they're taking pre-orders doesn't mean they will be able to fulfill them on launch day. Also, don't you have to pay full price to pre-order on Amazon? I always go through GameStop so I have no idea.

 

They had stopped pre-orders for a while this morning, so I think they are allowing them in waves so they don't get backordered. And my experience is Amazon won't charge until the item ships with pre-orders.

 

I'm interested in the Switch, but the one thing that bothers me is that if you play in a group, say Mario Kart, the little screens are split even though each person has their own screen.

 

I'm just excited Zelda for Wii U also releases on March 3rd because that's the main reason I got the console a few years ago. I'll wait a while and see how the Switch turns out.

im holding onto both my target and amazon preorders until i know for sure I'll get one.

@Anthony_D'Elia both places above dont charge until item ships. Target preauthorized my card but didn't hold the money.

Does Target pre order guarantee release day shipping? Or is it going to be like iPhone releases where I'll get it a month later?

That's true, but the split screen is worrisome.

 

I ordered one on Amazon. I forgot it won't charge until it ships, so worst case I'll cancel it if something comes up.

Pretty sure it's like that on Wii U. Player 1 (with the tablet) has a replicated screen to what's being seen on the tv, so yeah, you get split screen even though you have a tablet to yourself. I was assuming they would correct that since everyone will have a screen but I guess not.

 

Not gonna lie, I was really hoping for new tracks in Mario Kart. Like even two new cups would have been cool. Battle is cool, but racing is my jam!

Also @Snewt I don't think the smart driving thing prevents you from driving into walls, based on the tree house demonstration it looks like it just prevents you from falling off the track.

 

I can't fall off tracks anymore? how will I be able to have a true rainbow road experience. it's not rainbow road unless I fly off the track and come in last haha.
