  1. Splatoon 2 is also the best selling Switch game in Japan by a large margin.

Also yeah I think about that with Bayonetta 2 all the time, it's widely regarded as a 9 or 10 by game critics but it sold like shit on the Wii U and didn't do all that much better on Switch

Top selling games for Nintendo are more about legacy rather than gameplay

Like when the Switch is over it’s very possible that the four best selling IPs on it will have been Mario (which includes Cart etc.), Splatoon, Pokemon and Animal Crossing.

I don’t think Nintendo makes a lot of successful games with anything but great gameplay.... except maybe Mario Party and some of the sports games, which honestly are b-tier titles anyway.

For sure, but like it was just said, Bayonetta Is a universally well reviewed game but low in sales, because it doesn't have a legacy like the first party titles.

I see. True. But it’s also a weird Japanese anime witch hardcore game lol That definitely doesn’t help

Funny, I heard amazing things but I couldn't stand it because of the controls.

Breath of the Wild has so far been able to sell over 10 million copies which is pretty high and the highest for the series. I can see that topping any animal crossing game for the Switch and is currently higher than Splatoon 2 by millions.

Yeah this really sucks. I was kinda expecting it with Mario Party but not TWEWY. As someone who only plays in handheld mode I’m really wishing I hadn’t plonked down preorders for both these games, and definitely now will have to reconsider purchasing the new Pokémon game.

I wasn't following the last few pages, but it's still playable in tablet mode, right?

In that case, the downside is not being able to play with the joycon pair attached to the Switch. That is perfectly reasonable to me. 1-2 Switch - which is a release title that tried to perform the same role as Mario Party with a Western flavor - did that too.

And I'm not sure how anyone can even play Mario Party in handheld mode since it's a multiplayer game.

I mean, they had a whole series of them for DS/3DS and some people like playing alone/practicing. Also, the Switch version has online play too.

Yeah certainly possible. It then depends on how many Zelda branded games and how many AC branded games they release for the Switch.

One. There will only be one Animal Crossing game haha.

I said AC branded. That Happy Home Designer game apparently made bank for them.

EDIT: Over 3 million copies sold, which is pretty wild for what it was. Must have made A LOT of money.

Yeah, but they're taking their sweet ass time with the brand now. They're also being a little more cautious after Animal Crossing: Amiibo Festival which was disastrous. It only had one good minigame.

Trust me, I'd LOVE more AC, but I just don't know how likely it is. I want a game where I can finally fucking mark places where villages can't move in. Give me zoning permission!

    I mean, no?

None of the characters are drawn in a sexualized way at all.

Sorry, you're thinking of Sonic. Sonic is primo furry material.

It’s more like Harvest Moon for people that don’t want to deal with stressful schedules lol

no furry character is originally drawn sexualized, I believe most furries in the 20-30 age range got started from cartoons we had growing up
