haha playstation was more popular then where I’m from (which I also didn’t have). I honestly don’t know but I feel like I got caught up in that wave back when families thought videogames had a negative stigma attached to them, so I was only really allowed to use PC (and not even for long periods) and I owned handhelds so that too.

I remember IGN saying ALBW was the best 3DS game ever and that irked me because they put Fire Emblem Awakening at number two which was a game that quite literally saved/revitalizes a whole franchise while adding an insane amount of depth and made it incredibly approachable in comparison to most other games in that genre market.

I know a lot of people our age (I'm 28) whose parents wouldn't let them play video games so when they went to college or moved out they bought their first console which was like a 360 or a PS3 and that's how they got started. The negative stigma on games has always been stupid in my opinion.

I remember my mom letting me stay home from school and getting me N64 on launch day for my bday! She rules to this very day.

I'm 28 and my first console was a SNES, second was a gamecube. I guess my parents didn't think I was worthy of an N64.

N64 has so many memories like that attached to it for me. I didn't get mine on launch day, but maybe the day after. I cleaned my grandparents apartment for them and my grandma gave me money to put down and reserve one. I nearly pissed my pants the day my mom took me up there to pick it up. I played Mario 64 non stop until I conquered that shit. Still remember that and Pilotwings being the only games available for like the first month or two. lol

tecnhically my first home console was the 64 (gbc was the first game system i had, for pokemon) but i only owned 2 games for it (stadium 1 and 2) and it was kept solely at my dad's place because my mom didn't want me spending the week playing it. so even though it was my first home console i mostly regard the gc as the my first, and is the one that holds the most memories for me, much more so than the 64. im actually relatively lukewarm on the 64 era.

My first console was the N64, with Majora’s Mask and Mario 64. My first video game system was a Game Boy Color though, with the newly released Pokemon Red & Blue. I now have all Nintendo systems though, except for the Virtual Boy. And yes, that includes the Pokemon Mini, haha.

when i was a kid and i had gotten my n64 my dad had heard about ocarina of time through the internet and some video game magazines i owned, being the game it is all he heard was the super positive reaction it got so one day he asked me if i had heard of it, which i had, and if i wanted it and i said no like an idiot. what kind of kid says no to an offer for a new video game? much less a zelda game? it wasnt until i got wind waker and the collectors edition that i realized how bad of a mistake i had made.

I always thought that I had a Sega Genesis as a first home console but my parents deny it so it must’ve been a Gamecube then. Played a ton of Sonic Adventure 1 and 2 on that.

I been jumping all around since I got that loaded 2ds XL but last night I made the decision to finally beat Mother 3. Started a new file for the 3rd time in my life. Played for about 7 hours til like 2 am lol. Fuck this game is so so so good.

Dare I say Mother 3 is the greatest story telling ever done in a game?

27 here and my first console I had was a N64, gameboy pocket before that. one of the most vivid memories I have is my grandmother being appalled at the violence in smash bros.

21 here and my first console was the n64. I’ve had it basically since birth? I don’t have any memory of the first time I got it, just that I would constantly play Mario 64

Not having an official translation/release of it over here makes me want to play it even less for some reason
