Speaking of XC2, I’m like 5 hours in or so and can’t win fights it seems? Even if I’m a higher level, if I’m fighting multiple enemies (or even just one sometimes) I get decimated. Is there something I’m missing? I just got the ability to unlock other blades but don’t really have the means to unlock many more than the one they provide lol

How many team members do you have? Fighting multiple (or higher level) enemies is pretty damn hard until you have all three

Oof yeah I’m alone right now, still working on finding Nia after she was taken. I guess I should just avoid fighting much at least until I get her back

How many hours did it take you guys to get through Hollow Knight?

Oh yeah, alone is 1000x worse lol. You always need a healer or tank to back you up. Just try to speed through the primary plot until you get all three, makes a world of difference

Currently playing through Wolfenstein. It's a bit blurry sometimes and they obviously had to alter a few areas, but I'm honestly amazed that the Switch can run this.

I'm at 50 hrs, 98%, first ending only. Am working on getting the remaining 9% and other endings now. Even then, I STILL don't want the game to end.

Yeah I’m torn between wanting to play it every free moment I have and trying to drag it out as long as possible. Also where do you see what % you have? I took a quick look yesterday but didn’t see anything obvious.

You're only able to see the completion when you save at the bench right before you enter the final boss. When i first sat there, I was at 64% so I knew there was still a ton left for me to do.

Any good 3DS gems you guys would recommend? Impulse bought one the other day and I only have Animal Crossing, Pokemon X, Story of Seasons and ALBW.

My personal suggestion of "must plays" for the 3DS are as follows:

Fire Emblem: Awakening - There are a few FE games on the 3DS now, but none of them are as good as this entry. It's a near perfect encapsulation of what's great about the franchise and what the 3DS can do. If you're a fan of strategy RPGs, I highly recommend it.

Pocket Card Jockey - Possibly one of the most unorthodox video game ideas I've seen. It's about a horse jockey who dies and gets brought back to life and gets given the ability to be really good at racing horses...through the power of solitaire. It's funny, creative and addicting. It's not too expensive either so I definitely think it's worth checking out.

Kirby: Planet Robobot - This entry might be the best entry in the Kirby franchise and in some ways feels too big to be limited to the 3DS. It takes the standard formula from Kirby, acquiring enemies abilities, and changes it up by giving you a giant mech suit that amplifies the power Kirby has obtained. It also has some of the coolest cutscenes in the franchise. A very fun platformer I think is worth sinking your time into.

Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon - a sequel to the Luigi's Mansion from GameCube, but much longer, with better graphics, better controls and more interesting locations to explore.

Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Triology - If you didn't play the entries on the DS, Capcom quite conveniently bundled the first three entries together with redrawn, high quality graphics.

Resident Evil Revelations - Perhaps not a "must play" but the best version of this game. The game has been ported to modern consoles, but this game was designed and originally released for the 3DS. It's got a decent story for a RE game and a lot of things to explore.

I have a lot of other games I can suggest, but I'd want to know more about what kind of games you generally enjoy and whether or not you played a lot of DS games because if not there's a ton of games from that generation that need to be mentioned.

Thanks for all this, gonna check these games out. I typically stick to RPGs or just action games and I missed out on basically everything from the DS that wasn't Pokemon haha

Oh I see. I can definitely recommend some more then. I'm going to start putting trailers because it's easier haha.

Stella Glow - a turn based RPG with really good music. You're basically a guy who goes on a quest forming a team with and helping different witches and then going on side quests and building up your relationships with them to unlock more abilities and such.

Rune Factory 4 - it's basically Harvest Moon in a fantasy setting with RPG elements. There's a whole quest you can go on or you can tend to your crops or you can romance the villagers or befriend monsters. It's the best entry and the last entry in the franchise. It's standalone so you don't need to play any of the other games. Also there are tons of abilities and skill sets to level up.

Custom Robo Arena (DS) - a fun little mech game where you follow the story of a teenager who's trying to become the next champion of these robot battles. It's not an amazing game, but it's a lot of fun. There's a lot of collecting and different robots to customize. You get to control the robots in small little arena battles in real time which is a lot of fun, dodging missles and such.

Etrian Mystery Dungeon - I know a lot of people don't like the Etrian series because of the tons of classes and having to draw your own map of the dungeons, etc but this entry does away with that by combining the Etrian series with the Mystery Dungeon series. You go on quests and walk through the dungeons from a top down perspective deciding which enemies to approach first and with what characters in what order. It's a pretty good mixture of the two franchises.

Azure Striker Gunvolt - A side scrolling Mega Man like action game with a ton of cool powers and combat. They actually came out with a dual pack of both games for the 3DS a few years back that has a second playable character.

If you need more suggestions I have a ton more haha.

Something that's bothering me about buying physical Switch games: when it's multiple games and it's one on a cartridge and one digital code. I've purchased Bayonetta 1 & 2, Resident Evil Revelations 1 & 2 and Mega Man X Legacy Collection and they all do it. I find it frustrating. I much rather have two carts.

or you can just DL all your games, faster load times and you dont have to worry about that bs where its split between physical and digital

I’m playing Dragon Ball Z Xenoverse 2 right now.

It’s fun enough, but it’s the kind of game I don’t think I’ll ever actually be good at

See I agree with that. I usually do that. But this was an impulse buy because it was a game I wanted to play and then eventually trade in, you know what I mean?

But I agree. 9/10 times I want digital. The 1/10 is a limited edition.

I'm definitely getting that Fire Emblem: Three Houses limited edition.

No way they'd pass that opportunity.

I'm so excited for that. I loved Awakening, but ever since then each game hasn't been quite as good. This one looks like it takes all the great stuff from the recent games and combines it with some of the best traditional stuff. I am super pumped. Also, it's on Switch, not 3DS. That's a major plus for me.

Yeah as much as I enjoyed the weapons not breaking and tons of QoL in Fates, I still had more fun with Awakening. Fates' story didn't really grab me. Awakening had some really cool stuff like Marth's opening action scene up to the Lucina reveal. The stuff with Emmeryn I thought was pretty good too. I haven't played Revelations yet; hopefully my mind would change after finishing it. Nothing to complain about the characters and the battle system though, they have always been good.

And I got goosebumps watching the Three Houses reveal. That was so good. Totally agree with you on all points, it looks like it's going to be amazing. I need to watch it again.

Anyone played Fire Emblem Echoes? It looked interesting but I didn't have time to play when it released because Zelda.

So with Amazon Prime you save 20% on preordered games? Can anyone in Canada who does this confirm that it’s also 20%. That’s pretty good savings.
