I'm toadally getting Captain Toad because I missed it on Wii U. Also, I haven't beaten it, but I've played some Detective Pikachu and it's the best version we've ever had of the Pokemon world. The gameplay itself is meh, but the way they show how the Pokemon and humans interact on a daily basis is A+.

 

Super cool and nice quality.

Also when I picked up my games today I couldn’t help but pick up wedding Bowser so I could finish my Odyssey collection

 

I kind of want to cancel all of my plans this weekend and play Hollow Knight.

Too busy playing Pato Box.

 

Back on Tropical Freeze after getting like 80% completion in Hollow Knight and deciding to move on. I love this game but the water levels are really arduous.

 

7 hours into Octo and could not be more pleased. I do not care that each characters story only has the main character interacting with anyone in their specific chapter. Do not care at all. The stories are good.

 

I never thought I’d say this about a newish Nintendo system, but I’m totally overwhelmed by how many games are being released on the Switch atm. It’s a nice change after a lean first quarter of 2018.

Absolutely loving Wolfenstein 2 right now - I don’t care that the graphics and frame rate are inferior to other consoles, being able to take a game like this with me in transit to play on a plane or in bed is such a luxury. Now I just need to find some time to get to Octopath, Captain Toad, Hollow Knight, Ys VIII etc. etc.

 

Update on my son: he now plays Splatoon 2 in ranked mode and some how holds his own. He’s also having a Zelda themed birthday party this weekend

 

He’s probably more competent than most people in my teams

Octopath is the game I’ve wanted on the Switch since launch and I’m loving it so far.

I’ve only recruited the second member of my party and I can see how doing these 1st chapters might get repetitive so my opinion might change, but the combat is so damn good, and the soundtrack is unreal, and I’m very invested in the individual stories I’ve seen, so I have very few complaints

 

I was pretty meh on Captain Toad at first and I still hate forced motion controls, but now that I'm like twenty levels in I'm having a lot of fun exploring and re-exploring the levels to get all the side stuff done. Really charming little game.

 

Nintendo’s gotta do something about the hackers/cheaters. It’s crazy that they haven’t even tried to do anything about it while trying to make a go at esports

 

I've gotten 7 of the 8 characters and have not minded the repetitive pattern at all, I just look at it as a way to try out the character, grind and level up a bit to test em out and see who I want my final party to be. So far I love Tressa, Cyrus (my 1st pick) and Olberic. Now I just need a 4th to round out my main party. I haven't recruited the healer yet but I probably will use her primarily. I obviously will want to rotate characters to keep everyone strong, I really like how easy it is to catch others up on leveling up, games rarely do that, Suikoden did this as well and it made me rotate characters a ton more.

Fuck I love this game.

 

Hoping there’s some cyber deals today for the system, maybe....

gettting this

there was a glitch last night where target basically had a bunch of codes out that could stack and bring switches down to $150. It was insane and I am sad I was out, other wise I would have posted the deal.

 

Be careful, people on reddit are saying that card is a very low writing speed for the Switch, jus sayin.


EDIT: It may not be a big deal, games just take longer to download I suppose. It looks like it may affect loading times too though.
