season 5 is here for fortnite and a bunch of cool stuff and they added gyro controls for switch

 

Co-op play could be cool, I didn't know they were doing that.

I don’t know man, it might be fun but it looks very shallow. I don’t have a problem with it though given that they’re are also making a “real” Pokemon.

 

Hands on impressions haven't been the best.

 

I wasn’t sold on it at first but that trailer made it at least seem like Red/Blue/Yellow for the Switch


If it’s too gimmicky, I’m out

 

It’s based on those but like as a baby version. I’m not saying that in a mean way btw.

I had no idea Marie/Callie amiibo were that rare. I randomly picked them up in Japan like a year ago, haha.

According to the internet, Pearl/Marina are releasing today. No news yet on my local store.

Ah okay I haven’t read any reviews yet. That sucks, hopefully they release a demo so I can see if it’s worth getting.

 

There's no battling wild Pokemon, you catch Pokemon the same style as Pokemon Go, wild Pokemon are no longer random and you see them on the map, but there's a lot of them and they are hard to avoid and the Pokeball accessory is not fun to use.

That's from what I've read NOT from personal experience.

 

So if you can't battle Pokemon in the wild, does that mean there's no concept of exp and leveling up Pokemon in the game? Or is there, but only from trainer and gym battles?

 

You gain experience from catching Pokemon (wut?) and from trainer and gym battles.

 

Wow that's disappointing. I'm sure it'll still be fun enough for casual gaming, but it's still weird to remove such an integral part of the Gameboy games that they seem to be trying to pay homage to

 

Yeah, fine for casual players. A pass for me though .

 

I’ll never really understand why Pokémon keeps simplifying things for casual players. I played my first Pokémon game when I was maybe 5 or 6 and I did just fine

How is a game that was already shown way back in 2017 not being released until after Smash?

 

I guess it got shuffled around in the schedule. They probably didn't think it was a heavy enough hitter to be in the holiday season or something.

 

Proper mainline Pokemon games have been announced for 2019 in case that’s what you’re looking for

 

After 5 or 6 stores and some hours I finally found the Pearl/Marina amiibo. The store person even congratulated me because the demand was too high and they had very limited stock.

 

Anyone getting Captain Toad today? I’m picking that up as well as Detective Pikachu
