Not to mention the inevitable things like Animal Crossing, Pikmin, a traditional Super Mario Land-like Mario game, Bayonetta 3, Travis Strikes Back, Mario Party. And that's just from Nintendo.

We just got Warframe announced, Fornite and Paladins were released as was Crash Bandicoot. We get Okami HD soon and Ubisoft and Bethesda both said they're dedicated to bringing a lot of games to Switch.

I don't understand this completely unfounded fear. If there aren't any games you like out then either you are extremely picky or just haven't tried looking.

 

The only game I want on Switch is WarioWare.

 

I was super annoyed when they announced not only Luigi's Mansion for 3DS, but also WarioWare Gold. I want both of those on Switch. I get that Luigi's Mansion is easier to remake on 3DS because of all the assests from Dark Moon and such, and WarioWare is just a collection of all the handheld minigames, but still.

Also, Wario is fully voice acted in WarioWare Gold and it's kind of creepy in my opinion.

 

The Switch’s install base is close to becoming too big to fail. Also, the fact that indies frequently sell so much more on Switch than on other platforms shows that the Switch found a unique market among non-PC gamers. The Switch is and will be fine, people just have to stop expecting it to be like the PS4 or Xbox One. It’s a different product.

Also 3D Mario and Zelda are big IPs but like bigger (traditionally handheld) franchises in terms of sales are still coming.

Octopath reviews are rolling in, the consensus is the only negative part of the game is the lack of cohesion/discussion between the actual characters throughout the game. Gameplay is being well reviewed, battle system and visuals as well. I'm quite certain I can get past the characters not interacting with each other a ton, even though that is really fucking weird considering the story of the game.

 

Yeah I think I’ll be picking up Octopath. Might restart my progress from the demo though. Didn’t realize your first character stays with you the entire time. Might have to put some thought into it.

 

I won't pick it up right away because that's a really stupid and huge oversight for that type of game.

 

I mean, growing up and playing tons of JRPGS it is pretty normal to have a shitty story and great gameplay. Only the rare ones have both. So, nothing new.

 

What’s the difference between getting it now as opposed to in a few months? Assuming the price doesn’t drop for a long long time.

alright I'm done with amazon for pre orders. Octopath comes out tomorrow and it hasn't shipped yet. the last few times this happened I didn't get the game until the following week.

 

I’m looking forward to buying Ocotpath and playing it in 2-3 years. I haven’t been playing any games but I’ve been looking forward to this one since the reveal.

 

yeah Nintendo is in a very sweet spot right now. We are way past the darkness that is the Wii U era. Not too worried about the future.

It's not the fact that it has a shitty story (which I didn't say it did) it's the fact that these eight characters travel together and even though they have their own paths, are in parties with each other and rarely interact. That's just mind boggling to me. It really takes me out of it.

Price drop, wait to see the general public consensus on it and play games like Captain Toad and Hollow Knight instead.
