I actually just had to play a level as him. He's surprisingly strong. I'm also unlocked the Great Sea costume for him.

I already miss Aces :tear:, definitely a day one purchase for me BUT they need to fix the lag (kept getting matches that started at four bars and then dropped immediately to one, definitely cost me a few times), and a better system of matching players' experience/ability in the early rounds would be good. Sucks getting constantly wailed on in your first match of a tourney by some nerd who's already racked up thousands more points. The games where you fluked it and matched with someone of similar ability were ridiculously fun.

One of my favorite things ever is when someone says "tilted" in that way.

That loneliness is not a function of solitude.

Mario Tennis Aces had me addicted all weekend. Excited to see what they do with the Adventure mode. I just hope they make the online play more reliable. Lag killed the fun way too often.

I'm sure the online play will be a lot more reliable when the game launches. This is as much a test for Nintendo as it is a demo for the fans imo. Splatoon 2 was pretty bad during the demo and I rarely have any connectivity issues now.

Had a lot of fun playing yesterday. Further cemented the fact that this is a day one buy for me.

I spent a decent amount of time playing last night and I get it now. I still die after when I get to the first council member but I'm not nearly as frustrated as I was. Getting a handful of gems easily every time too also helps. Before this I couldn't make it past the first miniboss.

    Basic: Bolt rail
    Dash: Frost feint
    Standard: Exploding fireball
Signature: Shock assault (this has saved my life so many times)

I have no idea if this is good or not but it's kind of working. Happy to just be getting gems now so I can try out a bunch of different things, that was my biggest struggle.

Re: Wizard of Legend, I always make sure that between my standard and signature, I have one more "defensive" arcana. Something that when I'm in a bind and in trouble, I can throw it out to give myself some space. Of course I don't remember the names of the ones I use, but one is an earth arcana, and it throws up a bunch of shields around you. The other is electric and throws out a spinning electric circle around you.

Come on, Nintendo. Why isn't it released on Switch as well? It's a fucking great party game. I honestly don't understand what you're thinking.

This is just a compilation of mini games from the other games so maybe they’re working on a fresh one for the Switch?

it's a mostly a compilation where 2/3 of the old games it's pulling from are a much better/easier fit for the 3DS than the switch unless you restrict it to handheld mode. i'm fine with it existing and being a 3DS exclusive, just keep the franchise in everyone's mind before an actual new entry.

it's not even the last 3DS game they're putting out, that will probably be the bowser's inside story remake for 2019.

The problem I have is that it's frustrating to see the 3DS get ports like Mario Party Top 100 (even though it wasn't that good) which is minigames from all the Mario Party games, Luigi's Mansion from GameCube and WarioWare, all of which are beloved franchises from Nintendo and there's been not one peep out of them if those will exist on Switch at all. With this, the lack of Virtual Console, no Netflix/YouTube, mobile getting a bad Animal Crossing, and a YEAR without a proper online service, it just frustrates me a bit.

And I want you to understand something. I love my Switch. I've been playing it nonstop for the past two weeks because I like the portability and playing some games I've been meaning to get around to, but all the drawbacks really make me wonder how long this high of Nintendo's will last. They released their two biggest franchise entries in the same year. While it's great, it means we won't get another from either of those in a long time (maybe a 2.5d platforming Mario, but you know what I mean).

I would like this E3 Nintendo Direct to finally quell my fears. I want them to say "this is our plan, here's a bunch of streaming services, here's a bunch of stuff that will keep this system alive as a traditional system besides being a short term novelty."

We're also getting Smash and 2 Pokemon games (at least) over the next year and a half. The Switch will be fine.

First party games aren't necessary for this console to flourish and if you think so, cool but I'm pretty the Switch doesn't need your support for its continuous success

Needless speculation at this point, and if we are gonna speculate Fortnite alone will be enough to get naysayers (nerds) to buy the thing so they can ignore their families on the holidays
