You should be able to redownload it if you go to the news page on the Switch and on the right hand side it will have an icon for a link to the Mario Tennis Aces Pre-launch Online Tournament

 

It just says that I've purchased it. There isn't an option to redownload for some reason.

 

I wouldn’t worry too much about the lag. They will have way more servers up and running when the game is released.

Wow. Mario Tennis is so much fun. I didn't expect to buy pre-ordering it but here I am.

 

You also get double Gold Coins for My Nintendo by pre-ordering which is really nice

 

I keep forgetting about their Coins system. Hopefully in like a year or so I'll rediscover it and have enough to get a free game.

 

Coins expire after a year.

 

Too many nerds are playing the tournament and beating me. I've won 3 games and lost like 20.

 

oh shit, i didn't know there was a Mario Aces demo live. i'm really looking forward to that; i still haven't bought new games for my Switch

just fuckin BotW and Splatoon 2, lol. i haven't had much spare cash to put towards any games recently. i'm about to go buy Mario Kart 8 tho

Odyssey is a very good game, but it isn't a must buy right now type of game.

 

I think it definitely is. First or second best game on the Switch and one of the best Mario games ever imo

 

I'm not going to lie, I tend to be a contrarian most of the time or go against the waves of what's popular, but with Super Mario Odyssey (and BOTW, but less so) I think they are great games, but overrated. Super Mario Odyssey has charming worlds and characters, but overall it's really quite easy and a game that bothered me by the way it handled Mario nostalgia with all its retro stuff. It also was one of those games where I very rarely felt a sense of accomplishment when I got a moon because they were so plentiful and easy to obtain. Mario could sneeze and a moon would pop out. It would not be in my top five Mario games as I think 64, Galaxy 2, Super Mario World and Sunshine are all better.

Now, do I think you should play it? Absolutely. Because the things the game does well are done really well.

I personally found Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle to be much more entertaining and fulfilling.

 

Haven't touched my Switch since moving. Turned it on and downloaded Mario Tennis. Will give it a go tomorrow.

 

Mario + Rabbids is really good (with some boring backtracking) but unless the person I’m talking to is a huge grid turn-based strategy fan I will always recommend Odyssey first.

 

I honestly have a hard time recommending any Switch exclusives, but there are a lot of games I think are better on the Switch because of portability and the ease of multiplayer.

Off the top of my head I'd recommend:

Axiom Verge
Bloodstained: Curse Of The Moon
Yoku's Island Express
Overcooked

 

Personally I regret buying mario + rabbids. I'm just so bad at it that it's not enjoyable for me.
