I’m like 90% sure Pokemon Switch is already scheduled for 2018. No additional details as far as I know, but one is coming this year.

 

when i was a kid i drew (poorly) a dream roster for smash. for some reason frodo from lotr was in it, i didnt even like lotr that much.

 

Ice Climbers have to be there. They have no reason not to now

 

Only disappointment is I need a damn Yoshi release date!

Welp, I just ordered a Switch console.

 

There was only a 2 year gap between Smash64 and Melee

 

Think Smash is coming with online service? It would make the most sense.

Also I'm totally sold on Mario Tennis. Looks like it has a lot of depth and charm.

 

The more that I think about it, the more I believe that Smash Bros. is a new game.

4 years is a pretty solid amount of time to make a new game, even with the DLC development. I imagine that a lot of the last game's development was spent developing HD art assets and making sure the game could also run on the 3DS in 60fps with unique arenas, trophies and modes. Smash Bros. Switch should be much easier to develop in comparison, especially considering that they don't need to change the Wii U engine all that much. A lot of the framework is already there.

 

It feels like they are getting all the Wii U stuff and early Switch stuff out so 2019 can be Metroid, Pokémon and AC.

That Smash announcement is perfect though.

The Inklings were just running around and playing in their own little world and then a rift opens up and you see Mario and Link in the shadows staring menacingly, inviting them.

It’s like Nintendo saying to the Splatoon franchise: You made it.

 

They're not going to show first footage of Metroid or Pokemon in a random direct. If that's coming it'll be at E3.

 

wish luigi's mansion was on switch. loved that game back in the gamecube days

Well, if it's any consolation I'd say this all but confirms Luigi's Mansion 3 for switch eventually.

Overall, I'm happy as Crash was one of my most wanted ports and I never grabbed Wii U Smash so that's exciting either way.

Still really holding out hope for VC and the prime trilogy in HD as far as stuff that isn't 99% definitively coming at some point (like AC, 2D Mario, new Metroid, etc).

 

I didn't even realize the silhouettes of the cast was with them. I was so focused on the logo.

 

The Smash trailer was so good.
