Went on Nintendo's website and saw they're re-relsasing the NES Classic Edition this summer. I really dig the SNES Classic - and I was bummed I couldn't find the NES one when it came out. Glad to get another chance. I don't know how much it was before - but Nintendo is advertising it for $59.99

 

I read somewhere MyNintendo gold coins you can get from physical copies will expire after 1 year (I think after you start playing) meaning BotW one might expire tomorrow

 

I started registering them and my gold coins are now at 270. Awesome.

 

Also I’ll be attending a Legend of Zelda themed wedding next Tuesday. 2 of my most dorky friends - love them. I’m a groomsman and my SO’s a bridesmaid

Thanks for the heads up! Just nabbed mine for BotW. Now staring at my expiration dates for my digital downloads. I hope those Nintendo Switch rewards launch soon... and are decent. Literally nothing on there that interests me right now.

 

I think that was the original SRP. I remember it being 20 dollars cheaper than the SNES

 

GOTY INCOMING

 

When I first started with Celeste, one of the things I really liked is none of the rooms were overly long. So even if a trick was hard, eventually through sheer dumb perseverance you'd get through.

But now I'm at the end of chapter 6 and literally probably spent half an hour on the same room and didn't beat it because its way too fucking long with way too many tricks in it so even if none of the individual parts are overly hard, trying to beat them all in a row feels near impossible

hopefully taking a break was the right move. I don't want to resort to assist mode. Just annoyed they seemed to abandon one of the things that make the first part of the game fun but challenging and embraced a style that is not fun and overly punishing.

worst part is for the most part the end sequence to chapter 6 has been fun but now I'm just pissed. its just like "don't make the player have to chain 6+ hardish tricks in a row." each additional trick makes the room exponentially more challenging even if the later ones aren't any harder than the earlier ones.

took a break. came back. beat it in like 10 minutes. still feel like that bit was too hard. didn't feel accomplished after beating it, just relieved it was done.

 

The difficulty scaled fine for me. Obviously I can’t speak for the devs, but I thought they did shorter challenges at the start to ease the players with the controls. By Chapter 6 the game assumes you’ve already gotten used to it so they chain those challenges together into 1 room.

Been there too. When that happens I just take a break.

 

Yeah, I would take a break after half an hour on a challenging aspect and come back and clear it a lot easier with a fresh mind. I also think stringing multiple challenging parts together is the only way to really honestly scale the difficulty as it goes, if each room was basically one hard part and then you're clear, too much progression could be done through dumb luck/fluke timing and would take away from the sense of accomplishment I got from finally nailing something I initially deemed impossible when I walked into it

I'm a total Celeste fan boy though so take that as you will

Yes. I’m not quite sure how I feel about it. It’s fun, but I kinda feel like having all the allies is too busy

 

Played it with my son today, who loves Kirby, and he loved that I could join and help out. I definitely don’t think I’d be getting it if it weren’t for him, though.

Definitely felt a bit OP going after the boss in the easy level with us and two CPU helpers, ha

the only building i have done in fortnite is a little ramp up to get in a treasure chest in a house lol
