just purchased Celeste whilst at work. Do games download automatically if the Switch is in sleep mode?

 

Yes. But sometimes it doesn’t for me. I have no idea why.

 

hmm just got home, and Celeste only started downloading once I woke the system. Dang, my wifi is pretty shoddy so was hoping it would do it automatically

 

as i was signing up for a Nintendo account it mentioned there was gonna be a monthly fee for online access 2018
does this pretty much mean i'm gonna have to pay to play Splatoon online soon? or is that something else?

 

Yes, but it's like 1/3 the price of other online services so it's not a huge deal, imo.

 

Okay I really want Golf Story, Steamworld 2, The End is Nigh, and Celeste. Realistically I can get one or two of them. Hellllpppppppp.

Also I didn’t see any buzz for the advance wars clone released a few weeks ago. Was it any good?

 

Three of those are my favorite indie games for the console and the other one is currently downloading, sorry @ChiliTacos I got nothin. End is Nigh is great but maybe get in on the Celeste fun while everybody is playing it and pick up TEiN on sale? I wouldn't recommend two very difficult platformers at once haha.

 

besides playing Splatoon 2 for hours and borrowing my brother's copy of Mario Odyssey, i'm thinking about what game to buy next. honestly considering getting Fifa 18 (even tho i never play sports games). But maybe Arms. Maybe eventually Mario Kart 8 but it just seems more fun if played with friends in the same room

 

First chapter of Celeste was a blast, managed half the collectibles on my first run and gonna go back in and explore before I progress any further but gotta say I'm loving it so far.

I am definitely on team Celeste rn, got everything in Chapter 1 because I promised myself I wouldn't start anything else tonight. Can't wait to get back at it.

When I say everything, I DO NOT mean B-sides. Two screens just to check it out confirms this game will be a never ending challenge, much like TEiN

 

I didn't even know about Celeste until today.

 

Makes sense, it launched on Switch along with the other consoles unlike a bunch of other indies (ahem Hollow Knight) that have been available to people for a while. It was in the mini direct but I've had my eye on it for a while now

i just realized the reason I was having a hard time doing Darker Side on Mario was because I was going to an optional path in one of the ending segments so I might be able to finish that today.

Time to start either Celeste or MH: World. Putting Bloodborne in the backlog for a while haha, definitely picking it up again in the middle

this is cool. happy and excited for both teams.

 

when i saw that announcement yesterday without seeing the games list, i almost lost my shit because after waiting for a skyrim price drop, i finally pulled the trigger yesterday morning before any sales were announced. after finishing zelda and mario, i needed a new time sink... after getting a few hours in yesterday, i'm definitely re-hooked.

 

that's disappointing, it looks really cool and seems to have excellent reviews on other systems. I did download the demo first to try it.

 

definitely check the demo out. It might have also been because I was playing Odyssey before so I was used to a certain level of precision
