I didn't. Haha. I wonder if that'll mean faster dev times.

Yes use normal controls. So I have a better chance of killing you with the greater speed of motion aiming.

Also, I am the only one in my circle of friends that uses motion controls in Mario Kart, and I literally never lose

Wow. No Monster Hunter XX in the West in order to avoid competition with Monster Hunter World.

    I'm legitimately angry about this.

I use joystick and buttons for MK8 because I'm not a barbarian (it is fun though) but Splatoon 2 motion controls is superior imo

Are you the people that kept saying that CoD is superior on the Wii back in the day? ;D

Legit question how on earth do you fine aim using the right joystick?

I had a match on testfire where I had to circle around the opponent while jumping and I honestly can't imagine pulling that off without the motion controls.

I guess that's what the vertical/horizontal sensitivity settings are for. But still.

My SO disliked motion controls as well but I told her to give it a few matches, after I showed her in one match. There was no going back after that.

I haven't played the Testfire buf if it's like the WiiU game I'd say I aim like I aim in every console other shooter since like Halo 1? Or an I missing something here about the Switch game? It worked perfectly for me on the WiiU at least. Mainly it's just something you get a feel for if you play too many online shooters on consoles.

I was never really one for motion aiming on the Wii and I don't even really love the ARMS motion controls but I can't imagine playing Splatoon without motion aiming. It feels so good and works perfectly.

I forgot how it is on Wii U, but in Splatoon 2 you use the right stick strictly to look left and right quickly and motion handles the vertical and fine aiming. So I guess it's a mix of both but I find it easier to just flick my controller compared to moving the stick a little. It feels more natural.

That's how it was on WiiU. It gave me existential dread. I play(ed) a lot of shooters so analog stick aiming is so natural to me.

I will say that I think I'll probably try to play a lot of the game without motion this time around because handheld + motion is a bad mix.

Makes sense. I never got used to that haha.

The biggest change for you will probably be the B button being jump, X opens the map.

My first run on testfire I kept pressing X thinking it was the jump button. Haha. Probably not even used to it still. Died so many times.

Only disappointment with E3: no "available directly following this presentation" moments.

I really expected to be able to play an old Mario or something

No VC is the huge glaring omission from Nintendo's E3. At this point, I kind of don't think we'll hear anything until close to 2018 and the paid online launch, with normal pay-per-game VC launching alongside the subscription thing they're doing.

It has never been all that successful so they're probably still figuring out what to do (which also explains the change from one game per month to continued access to a number of games). Launching the old VC now would not be a good idea in that case because it would be hard to cancel it again once they have figured out what they really want to do.
