That was good.

Metroid Prime.
Mainline Pokemon.
Kirby.
Yoshi.
Xenoblade.
Mario.

Plus some third party stuff including Rocket League with cross-play. Strong showing.

Mario looks fucking amazing by the way. And Yoshi looks so pretty. And Xenoblade is anime as fuck which is good.

 

That was amazing.

Nintendo is so dope.

 

The Treehouse streams are going to have more announcements too which rules.

 

Nintendo just knocked it out of the park. That was so good.

 

Excited for Mario, Xenoblade, Metroid (whenever that comes out).

I don't care about Rocket League at all.

so that was pretty awesome even if it didnt feature what i was most looking forward to (when is hollow knight coming!?), i went in expecting a half hour on odyssey though so not dissapointed
so my thoughts:

xenoblade: ive never played a xenoblade game and this looks cool but jrpgs are regularly a pretty big time commitment and they regularly start out pretty slow so im not sure i wanna dive into a new franchise

kirby: looks nice but these games are so easy that theyre not really worth the price

pokemon switch: so hype, i know its long been rumored but its cool to get a confirmation, as ive mentioned earlier if they plan on releasing it next year it'll be gen 1 remakes, if not itll probably be gen 8

metroid prime 4: obviously very little to go by but its cool that they let us know it is indeed coming so we're no longer in suspense

fire emblem warriors: looks cool but these games get really old really quick so i wont be getting this

yoshi: soooo cute, havent played a yoshi game since yoshi's island 2 but i might pick this up

odyssey: playing as the enemies looks nuts, this game looks so creative and polished but it's hard for me to get really hype about mario so i'll probably wait a bit before playing it

 

Ah I'm so excited but I wish these games weren't announced so far in advance.

All the new Zelda amiibo are going to drain my bank account

 

actually watching the odyssey gameplay is making me want to pick this up on release date. also realizing that i do not know how to spell odyssey

 

this lady makes me feel like it's a infomercial

 

Btw given what they said about the Zelda dlc @SpyKi might be on to something

I'm hyped for it.

 

Switch isn't even a year old and we're probably getting 2 classics.

And then we have Splatoon 2 ans ARMS in the same year.

Nintendo developers are going nuts on their releases.

 

yeah ive always found it weird that a big complaint for the switch is that it doesnt have enough games yet but we're only 3 months from its release and we already have zelda and mario kart, arms next week, splatoon in a couple of weeks and mario in 4 months, that's a really stacked first year if ive ever seen one.

and thats without counting fire emblem warriors, xenoblade, disgaea, and pokken which are a bit more niche but are still very noteworthy

 

I can't remember a better first year for a console honestly.

 

My SO genuinely got sad when the presentation ended without an Animal Crossing reveal. It was cute and disheartening at the same time. Mixed emotions when I was so happy watching Mario while trying to console her.

 

the only thing is that i really wish we would have gotten a "animal crossing is in development" announcement. maybe it still is, but with kirby, yoshi, and metroid coming next year, i have a feeling animal crossing won't be until 2018.
