If the smaller Switch happens, I see it having fixed controls rather than Joycon, with the ability to pair with Joycon additionally. Making smaller Joycon would be a nightmare.

Yes this is exactly what I think could happen once a thing like that would no longer significantly dilute the message.

I really love that Nintendo is gaining so much momentum right now. I'm biased of course that I want them always to succeed, but what they've introduced to the gaming community in general is awesome, and I think something I've been looking forward to. Like if an indie game is announced, the first thing I think about is - is it on Switch? Because if it is I'll 100% buy it there.

I love that it's a console that you'd like to play on because it's a good device, rather than it's a console you like to play on because it has good exclusives. (Which is also does I guess)

What I want to know is how Sony, or Microsoft, or other new competitors if any will react. There's a chance the other big 2 will just push forward with staying as home console and compete with PC, or they might try to pick some notes and pivot with something similar (probably unlikely). Or a new challenger comes that covers the same area as Nintendo right now.

I don't know. I'm just so excited in general and definitely looking forward to what happens in the next few years.

All three are definitly in difference places. Nintendo firmly and definitely took itself out of the power race because it prioritized a hybrid platform, which is interesting and apparently successful. Microsoft is more and more about unifying console and PC gaming through Play Anywhere and the UWP. Sony is playing the game the old way still, but so far it has been working for them. I think it'll continue this way for a while, though I would not be terribly surprised if Sony releases another handheld at some point given the Switch's success.

I think I'm axing ARMS from a buy to a "maybe some day" purchase.

I loved the TestPunch, but feel like I already got enough out of it.

Yeah, I see Xbox doubling down on being the most powerful console on the market, appealing to "gud graphix" Call of Duty/Madden types, and continuing to try and be the TV box for PC gamers between that power and Play Anywhere.

Sony will continue to be the best option for a primary game machine between multiplatform titles and a lot of Eastern games, and will keep pushing to be a media hub for cordcutters. I don't see a Vita successor happening.

Nintendo will keep making colorful fun explosions and kick all kinds of ass and be my favorite company on earth.

I honestly thought Valve would come in there somewhere, when Steam started to really blow up.

Their advantage is that the games were already there. So for existing subscribers it was more of paying for the hardware to play platformers on the go (if there was let's say a Steam-linked handheld). And then go home play XCOM on your PC or a Steam console. I'm sure going into the hardware market is more complicated than that but I thought it was a good market for them to explore.

Yeah, Valve seems more focused on VR than anything. I'm all for that, as I'm waiting for it to take off and result in less expensive sets.

Also I don't expect ARMS to have like 100 hours playtime for me, but I can't imagine not owning it on day one. The mechanics is really right up my alley. And who knows maybe it'll be the trigger to make me actually go to the gym (and start boxing) haha.

    In all honesty:

    - Mario Odyssey
    - Mario/Rabbids
    - Some form of sidescrolling Mario available immediately or very soon. Be it a port of the New Super Mario Bros games, just something. I can't believe I own a Nintendo thing that can't Mario yet.
    - ARMS
    - Splatoon
    - Project Octopath Traveler
    - Announcement of Nindies showcase on Treehouse
    - Fire Emblem Warriors
    - First concept art of Fire Emblem Switch
    - Xenoblade 2, hard release date
    - Zelda DLC sizzle reel
    - SNES Classic
    - ...into Virtual Console, with select titles available for download after the presentation

I'm bad at predictions (I'll post mine later) but I want a Donkey Kong vs Yiga Clan game so much.

    I'll go bananas.

They'll focus 99% on 2017 games, which will include some smaller titles we don't yet know. Like I said, I see a Wii Sports sequel.

Also I personally prefer Nintendo's "you'll be able to play this by next E3" approach to E3 to Sony's "you'll be able to play this within the next 5 years" approach. Although Nintendo has missed some of those marks pretty tremendously.

Honestly expectations from Nintendo at E3 are pretty low. I just want to see Mario Odyssey and a lot of it (which we will) and have VC confirmed. I want to give you money to buy Mario 64 again, Nintendo, just let me already.

The one dream I will mention is a new Wario Ware. As far as Nintendo goes, that's what I want above anything else.

I'd love to see Rocket League get announced for Switch. I know the controller isn't ideal for it, but I feel like it's a possibility. Also a firm date for Stardew Valley would be great.

I know I've said it before but the best thing about the switch for me is that I can just turn it on and instantly play a game. No waiting 30 minutes to an hour for an update. I'm lucky if I even get that long to play in the first place
