Switch Needs a 'Wii Sports,' and 'ARMS' Might Be It

 

I finally got Shaq and now him an Scottie Pippen are killing the game

 

I'm not sure I want a shot bar, I wonder if it's optional

 

Yeah the shot bar seems unnecessary. Just stop applying the timing aspect to layups and do it automatically based on the player's stats (Higher 2 point shot = less missed layups), because those are damn near impossible to hit.

 

I just want to say, I saw that Radiant Historia trailer, thought it was a sequel, and my heart started racing before I realized it was just a port and got super sad. But hey, anyone who never played that game needs to play this port. It's one of the best JRPGs of the 21st Century.

 

I was hoping the RH port would get a release here since I missed the original.

 

I know a lot of people don't need it but Netflix on Switch is something that would be convenient for me.

Netflix on Switch would rule. Would love to prop it up on the counter while I'm making dinner and stuff. I also hope we get Crunchyroll, which also seems like a given.

By the way: if they stick to their new direct format, 30 minutes can be a lot. Also, there will be a lot of treehouse content I'm sure.

 

I'm expecting to be beyond disappointed, but really a Mario 64 type game is bigger for me than even Zelda so I will be over any lack of new announcements very very fast provided that game looks decent at all.

 

I think we can be pretty sure that that game is going to be absolutely amazing.

I also think we're going to see a new entry in the Wii Sports franchise, with a new name probably.

 

There are now people saying that Pokemon mainline will never come to Switch. That's crazy because it would mean one of three things:

1. The 3DS will go on forever. In reality, the 3DS will be viable for about one more year, which is exactly why US/UM are happening (like B2, W2 did for DS).

2. Nintendo releases another handheld next to the Switch, which given the Switch's success has gone from unlikely to very unlikely, especially within the timeframe it would have to come out for Pokemon to keep up it's release schedule going.

3. Pokemon mainline will stop, which is the absurdest one by far because I'm pretty sure Pokemon will outlive us all ;D

Also, people said the exact same thing when Pokemon did not make the switch to 3DS right away. The reality is, Pokemon games make crazy money on platforms with big install bases and low development costs (and they have huge sales expectations) so they'll always support a platform until the very end.

 

Yeah my biggest Nintendo-related question right now is what comes next for the in terms of a strictly handheld platform. Honestly I'd prefer a second device to just releasing 3DS-type games for Switch because a pure handheld would have better battery life and I'm way more likely to actually take something like the 3DS on the go with me than I am the Switch haha. I'm still too worried I'd damage the Switch haha

Unless the Switch does a 180 and ends up tanking there won't be another handheld for now I think. Games that are more like "handheld games" will continue to come out and will use less battery power. I also think a smaller Switch is possible. That being said, there are scenarios where a new handheld does have to happen, which is why I'm sure Nintendo is always quietly working on potential hardware.

 

Haha yeah I've read a lot of those which amuses me more than it frustrates me.

The franchise has nowhere else to go but on Switch. Either Game Freak is annoyed that now they need to upscale to HD and spend more on development or it's actually something they've been looking forward to (having a handheld device with this power). But it will transition eventually.

I didn't expect Game Freak to release Pokemon Switch this early, it is sort of new territory for them after all.
