i main-ed hunting horn ever since 4U. Just so fun to use solo and in groups, even if tail parts are a hassle to get.

 

I was literally talking with someone the other day about whether or not beating higher rank solo hunts with the horn is possible, haha. You are more skilled than I

 

I suck at MonHun and I have no friends to play with so yeah. I still might buy it though haha

definitely have yet to regret my impulse Switch purchase.

 

It's a Friday night before a three day weekend, my girlfriend has plans with her friend, I have a bottle of tequila at home and an hour to beat up my roommate in ARMS tonight. Life is good.

Also, totally downloaded the Just Dance demo because I am super masculine.

 

WHAT this looks awesome

 

I'm pretty sure the only extra skill I have there is having the patience of hitting the same monster 5 minutes longer than most people.

But HH is really fun because you can supplement your weaknesses with melodies. You only really need Earplugs HG for the armor skill.

HH Trivia:
- the two-note self buff that is really easy to maintain has 2 effects: 1 is increased movespeed which makes HH hunters have the fastest movespeed when unsheathed, and 2 is Mind's Eye which prevents weapons from bouncing off monster's tough hides which is crazy because it's a skill that other weapon users love to gem in and we get it free
- Seregios Hunting Horn in MH:Gen restores sharpness while rolling, and it also has a melody that negates stamina decrease while rolling. So you can pretty much stay max sharpness the whole run. Plus it has attack boost (s) iirc
- Hammer is better at stunning monsters but HH is king when it comes to exhaustion (that animation where the monster stops with saliva dripping and you get free hits)

My second preferred weapon is actually SnS but SnS does not like me at all. I fuck with evade HBG though, I highly recommend trying that out. Makes MH more fast paced.

And then the one weapon I'm sure I'll never be able to play properly is great sword.

 

The shop I live above has a cheap GameCube and I probably won't be getting a switch til late July. Should I go impulsively buy it to fill the void in my life until then?

 

I'm dying for a new Animal Crossing console game. Hard to believe it's almost been 10 years. Not that I didn't like AC:NL, I loved it.

 

Hell yeah man, plus a little modification and it's basically a Switch!

 

looks like another good quick game with to play with friends.

 

I have been absolutely smashing Mario Kart. I already felt like I could dominate with my eyes closed just because of how much I played on the Wii U, but now that you can have two items at one time...it feels like cheating.

 

I'm dumb excited to punch stuff tonight

Interesting stuff. I'm a neanderthal in these games, so my main setup is SwAxe with Aerial Arts, because there is no more effective way to kill a thing than switching between mounting it over and over and smashing it in the mouth. I resolve to try something new in my Switch playthrough. My roommate only plays HH and HBG, but he also only plays multiplayer so he's never left to himself.

Welcome to ARMS, Part 1: Motion Controls

 

Is there any particular top speed/acceleration minimum value I need to maintain when choosing Kart parts? I average at 5th with the occasional top 3 on good days. I kind of want more good days.

 

He must try it! Too fun. Rathalos and Zinogre (also Kezu) are good starting monsters just because it's so easy to hit their heads. Especially with Rathalos - the first time you meet him when he roars and stuff you actually have enough window to stun him right there and then. It's so rewarding and a good skill to have in multiplayer.

I don't think I've ever had a solo Rajang that felt like an elegant win haha.

And I while I don't really consider myself a good player, I think I compensate by being well researched. I just try to get better with every release and sometimes watch on Youtube to pump myself.

Now I'm craving MH again. Haha.

Honestly I don't worry about the stats that much; I just pick the karts that turn the most comfortably to suit my style. I feel like being able to consistently dodge items, not hit walls, make it through shortcuts, etc. is the most valuable part. So really just try different combos. I don't think there's necessarily a "best" option.
