There is no coherent Zelda timeline. I know they say there is, I know there is a book and all, but it's all so nonsensical that I am pretty sure it is just there to placate fans, the developers dgaf lol

 

The only timeline stuff that has made sense to me is the win/lose scenario of ALTTP

None of it matters in-game, so it’s whatever

 

Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom gameplay is an amazing blend of old and new

Coming to Nintendo Online: some obscure-ass games.

 

The Japanese games on Switch online do me no good since I can't make it through the menus and mode selections and all that shit. lol

Rumour: Switch 2 images and specs leak (Update: images line up with what partners were shown)

 

if this is true, i desperately wanna know where these rumors of a two-screen console are coming from, because what we're seeing in those images appears to be just two differently-sized models (like we currently have) that look nearly identical to the original version save for some slight changes to the Joy-Cons (i.e. no sliding rail latch mechanism, some sort of hole behind the trigger)

But the Switch design is already perfect and there’s only so much you can do with a hybrid console, so no complaints.

 

Yeah, I see no reason to fuck with the design.

 

The built-in microphone is a big deal. No more phone app for multiplayer chat that almost nobody uses.

 

I like that it looks 95% the same. The added USB-C on the top and bottom make it more convenient to charge it while playing handheld as well. The same leak also released the specs. It has 12 GB of ram, which after accounting for the 1GB of ram required to run the Switch OS that leaves it with around 11 GB. That's more than the Xbox Series S lol which is insane for a handheld. Power wise it will be around PS4/Xbox Series S while in handhold mode and a little under the PS4 Pro while docked. The storage is 256 GB.

It also has DLSS upscaling. Sounds like all the right moves. My guess is this will be $400 at launch with those specs.

Nice. With modern phones having 12+ GB of RAM these days, that's encouraging to see. Excited for a USB on top.

 

Everything else sounds promising and is basically what I expected and hoped for with the Switch 2.

But that storage size is a fucking joke still.

 

I'll get me a micro SD like I did for the first switch. I'm hoping they just call it the Switch 2. Super Switch sounds cool, but I can see how, marketing wise, it could make people think it's just an add-on and not a successor.

 

i'm gonna need to see a good lineup of games and concrete plans for backwards compatibility before committing to purchasing it. but it does look promising.

Switch Ultra or Switch Pro also sound fine as console names, tbh.

 

My problem is that I maxed out my 1tb microSD and internal storage for my OG Switch. If we’re getting PS4/XBONE level games then there’s no reason for the storage to be that size. Even double that would at least be fair.

I think they need the 2 though. Ultra and Pro are just probably going to get the same issue the Wii U had. They need to make it well known it’s a separate new console and not just another upgrade like the Switch OLED. So throwing the 2 on there distinguishes that it’s a new console without confusion and having to bring it up constantly.

 

1TB?? Do you buy a game every day? lol I have a 128 GB micro sd card in mine and have only used around 60 GB (plus the 32 gb storage in the switch) the entire 7 years the console has been out.

 

I have too many games, yes. But my craziness isn’t relevant to this industry pushing digital on us more and more every year and not scaling the storage space to games getting bigger. Lol

 

i guess that could work to some extent. in my mind, i was thinking about Xbox naming conventions, how a new console name has never just been Xbox 2, Xbox 720, etc. i will admit it was a bit confusing when they switched to the Series branding, but on my end it makes sense.
