TTYD is so fun. I never played the GBN version so this is fresh to me. My only other Paper Mario experience was Origami King and I never finished it.

 

I just got to Flurrie in TTYD and…oh my

 

WELCOME BROTHERS !!!

 

Battletoads is hard af. Thank god for saves in the emulator because this game is impossible

 

I spent almost all day yesterday playing TTYD. So much fun.

 

that's very cute. if only it wasn't $300.

Why is there a noose in the middle of the town square in TTYD lmao pretty dark for a Mario game!

 

Even darker, in Twilight Town (4th level), there's a starving family - a single mother and three small children - who watch their mother get turned into a pig and then one of them asks "...are pigs good eatin'?"

Absolute fucking insanity.

Some goodies I picked up today.

 

I'm assuming those are Famicom games?

 

I was watching Rogerbase's June Direct predictions. He's usually pretty on point with his guesses. I don't think he's correct here though that they'll do Prime 4 here, and that it'll be a duel Switch/Switch 2 release. Also don't think he's right that they'll show footage of the new Pokemon Legends here, and that it will be a pre-Switch 2 release.

However a couple things he predicted that I do think have a chance

• Donkey Kong 64 on NSO. He pointed out it's nearing the 25th anniversary of the game. DK is getting an area in Nintendo Land at Universal and DK was just in the movie. They're going to want something DK on the system, but he doesn't think there is going to be a new game. Bringing back DK64 just makes more sense.
• He also thinks along with DK 64 the last big NSO drop on Switch will be a huge Rare 64 dump. Perfect Dark, Banjo-Tooie, Diddy Kong Racing, Conker's Bad Fur Day. As those are the last big blank spot's in NSO's N64 library
• Metroid Prime 2 Remastered. on the heels of Prime 4 getting finished they're going to want to finish remastering the trilogy before that comes out. Doesn't think they'll do 2 and 3 at the same time
• Windwaker or Twilight Princess HD. Nintendo is going to want a Zelda title for the holiday season. Any new big new Zelda game is going to be on the next system. A port for the Holidays is the easiest quickest thing they can do
• They'll surprise announce a Mario & Sonic Olympics game ahead of Paris 2024 for a late Summer release
• A new Mario Party. He points out that Mario Partys usually drop every two or three years, and a new Mario Party usually always drops at the very end of a life cycle of a system
• Fire Emblem: Genealogy of the Holy War remake. He point out that a FE remake has come out towards the end of the life cycle of the last couple Nintendo handheld systems. They remade Gaiden and Mystery of the Emblem the last two times, so he thinks Genealogy is next .
• Kid Icarus: Uprising HD. He thinks this is what Bandai's other Nintendo team is working on. He pointed out rumours of this game were concurrent with early rumours of the LM2 remaster, which ended up happening

 

Got my copy of TTYD a few days earlier than I expected, but of course it came the one day I was going to be out all day. One of my favorite restaurants is closing on 6/7 and we managed to get a reservation for today before they were completely booked, so it was at least worth the torture of knowing it was sitting there.

 

Shoulda just taken the switch with you like the original ad

 

You got me there. They’re closing, so I’m never even going to see those people again anyway. My friends are probably already ashamed of me, so what’s a little more going to do?

But that food definitely needed my full attention. So sacrifices needed to be made today.

 

I fucking hate it when good restaurants close

 

The worst part is that their sister restaurant is closing too and that was my other favorite. That closes in July though and their books aren’t open yet, so I’m dreading trying to get a reservation for that one even more.

 

I know the feeling. Since Covid so many of my favorite restaurants have closed here… I hate it

So TTYD is good? Might pick it up

 

I'm seeing more and more of that as our city government tries to gentrify downtown and jacking up property taxes like crazy >_>

 

I am overly annoyed by how the triangle coming off of speech bubbles is layered behind the speech bubble itself instead of being a part of it in TTYD switch remake

VISUALLY UNSATISFYING lol
