Yeah now that I think of it I think they'll do Yoshi's island next and they'll introduce Wario as the antagonist and also maybe introduce Daisy.

For the Peach spinoff they said they're going to make, they'll do Galaxy and Introduce Rosalina.

 

Man, I think I'd be the most excited for a Luigi's Mansion movie. That would be so fun.

Ideally it would be a Zelda miniseries made by someone competent, but let's face it, that will never happen

 

I said this elsewhere, but my main point of interest with how they adapt Zelda is how they portray Link.

Unlike Mario, where we can at least get a sense of his character, Link is pretty much a blank slate that never emotes, so this will be the first time he gets properly defined as a person.

 

I swear to fucking God if this doesn't get referenced in the film, we riot.

Could nintendo be doing WAY more when it comes to supporting their retro titles in the modern age? Absolutely. I’m happy we get anything at all? Yes I am

 

Super Mario Land was the first game I really loved, spent a lot of time with Alleyway too when I was 7 years old. These are the additions I’ve been waiting for.

 

I just saw a headline that just said "Rumour: Lego Zelda coming this September" and I thought it was for a Lego Zelda game lol

turns out of was just about a Deku Tree Lego set. It got me thinking though, would a Lego Zelda game be good?

 

aside from all the licensing issues, the biggest challenge imo would be making it ambitious like other Zelda games while retaining the humor of other Lego games. this is all while still standing on its own story-wise, since most Lego games rehash stories from their IPs. the latest Lego Star Wars game definitely showed that it's possible to make something that ambitious and humorous, so i wouldn't be opposed if they could get a good story down. not saying they need to come up with something completely new, but it can't just be "here's OOT or BOTW but in Lego form".

 

Well hold on, let's not discount this entirely.

After all, in a way, TOTK was Lego Zelda.

 

Bouncing back to a zelda central game where she is the playable hero, having her be able to switch between Sheik and Zelda and having that lead to an internal struggle would be neat. Zelda as sheik has only be in 1 main Zelda game. Zelda going full ninja mode would be great to play as.

 

Metal Gear Zelda stealth game with Zelda as Sheik would be sick.

 

Honestly right now I am leaning towards the Zelda-centric game just being the next top down 2D one they're making. That It'll be Zelda's Awakening or A Link Between Zeldas basically.

Nobody ever speculates what the top down LoZ team has been up to since the LA remake, maybe this is it. I don't think it's reasonable to think that Nintendo would do a character spinoff game and have it be the same type of style/gameplay as the mainline franchise, Nintendo almost never does that with their Mario character spinoffs . On the otherhand I think giving Zelda her own game in some completely different genre would feel a little cheap. Them just giving the 2D side of the franchise over to that character seems like it would be a moderate practical move.

 

Just remake Wand Of Gamelon.

 

FYI if anyone pre-oreded Paper Mario. Looks like it's only Walmart cancelling physical pre-oreders so far.

 

That's fucking weird. Why does Nintendo have to always be Nintendo about everything?

 

Seems like it’s an anti-scalping measure. Which honestly, I understand.

 

Is it going to be that hard to find physically that scalpers will be a problem? Super Mario RPG was readily available weeks after release. Which I unfortunately lost my cartridge in my parents living room.

 

If they’re worried about scalping then clearly they know it’s an issue and they can print more. Nintendo is always so bafflingly anti consumer on almost everything.

 

I'll just emulate the GC version with HD and Widescreen patches

 

Yeah I’m wondering if I should just emulate it on my steam deck

 

When we never get another Paper Mario, expect to see these posts quoted again.
