I'm not a hardcore platformer so the challenge felt well-weighted to me personally, but it was mainly the creativity. humour and wackiness of the levels that really made me love it

 

The Super Mario World soundtrack alone is enough for me to claim it as the best Mario 2D. Love every song in that game.

 

Loooved Wild World. Idk why but my GameCube disc for the original AC stopped working pretty early on despite having zero scratches on it, so Wild World got way more game play out of me

 

Never played until New Leaf. Keep saying I want to go back to New Horizons but I never do

 

My wife has almost 3,000 hours in New Horizons. She has played it just about every day since its release.

 

I'm sad that I haven't touched ACNH in ages. Miss getting up every morning and doing my island chores.

 

I bought New Horizons on launch day and put 40 hours into it the first couple weeks. Got burnt out on it and haven't played much since.

 

it got my wife through that first month of lockdown, March - April 2020. As time went by, I was the one who daily maintained the island until we stopped caring and then I sold the game

 

Are there any good rogues on sale on Switch at the minute? Think Dead Cells is but already got that, need something new to scratch my itch.

 

If you haven’t played Hades, it’s super fun. I may try to do another run.

 

Apparently Hades 2 is looking really good right now

Is this going to be the first Summer Olympics we don't get a Mario/Sonic Olympics game? It's a few months away and it occurred to me it hasn't been announced yet.

 

Unless it's a shadow(lol) drop, probably. I don't think it was ever announced as being in the works.

 

I beat Princess Peach Showtime. I did not expect this game to suddenly get really visually stunning in the endgame. The animations in the final boss battle with Madame Grape and the Radiant Peach stuff looked like something from BOTW/TOTK. Such a fun little game. Also really good music.

 

It does look really fun. Might pick it up based on this review.

 

Since I beat Peach I decided to now try to get through some of the other smaller cozy games in my collection I haven't beaten yet. Now I am doing Yoshi's Crafted World.

 

Yoshis crafted world is great

 

It’s fantastic couch co op

 

All those cozy "too easy" games are great.

 

Visually the design is very impressive and imaginative. Like the 3 dimensional aspect. Love SNES Yoshi's Island, good incarnation of that series so far.

 

After this I might finally cross off Captain Toad too. Which is cozy, but not easy. That shit hard as hell especially later in the game lol
