If memory serves, theyve had a direct within the first 2 weeks of Feb 3 years in a row.

I'm playing Super Mario RPG for the first time on Switch and I'm loving everything about it, especially how goofy it is and there's just random things in there that, as far as I can tell, are simply meant to delight you with no other purpose lol

Plus it's actually kind of challenging? I mean it's not super hard or anything, but it definitely requires you to actually strategize and think about what you're doing

 

do we think we'll get a Direct announcement in early February?
i'm starting to buy into the hype of the next console announcement being imminent
(how many months before it's release was the Switch announced?)

 

Almost six months. It was unveiled in late October and released during the first week of the following March.

 

The next direct will probably be February 6th. The last 2 February directs were the first Tuesday of February.

 

I’m also beginning to actually believe the Switch 2 announcement is coming so that would be very cool

I wouldn’t expect the switch 2 to be announced soon unless it’s a summer release, which I doubt it is

 

I think most people in the know are in unison about a September-October release window.

 

It’d be so fucking funny if it wouldn’t come out this year, to a point where I want them to not put it out

 

Honestly after doing the lion share of my gaming on the Switch again the past few months, I don't even give a fuck any more.

Like the addition of a few more pixels aren't going to make me enjoy Harvestella more. And the last thing I want is devs chasing graphics again instead of delivering THE SAME EXACT GRAPHICS they are doing now with maybe more frames.

but these fucking idiots will do it. They will just start porting shit like Cyberpunk to the Switch and then people are going to cry for Nintendo games to look like tech demos and we'll see the next Zelda in 2030.

 

Nintendo has never cared about graphics before, and I don't see them starting now unless something has dramatically shifted.

 

I hope we don't get a real Switch 2 but some sort of Switch Pro. I want devs to be tied to making games that run on the Switch base hardware.

Yes, I personally want the IQ to be better but I don't want all the AAA bloat that comes with it.

 

I’m not sure that’s exactly true, they just don’t care about photorealistic graphics or whatever you wanna call it

 

They don't care about the graphics horse-race in terms of raw hardware performance, but I mean ToTK eeks out every last drops of graphical performance out of the Switch, so to say that they "don't care about graphics" is contextually false.

 

No good game needs better graphics than Tears of the Kingdom.

Give people too many terraflops and you'll end up with navel-gazing garbage like fucking Senua Hellblade whatever.
