ARMS looks so rad. I like Splatoon but ARMS just appeals much more to me. The free DLC and the stresstest beta are just icing on the cake.

 

I feel like since the Switch reveal we're seeing a new Nintendo.

A lot of the stuff they're doing now, while still weird and random and still in character, just translates better - from the marketing to the gameplay showcase. I don't know what exactly changed but I'm enjoying this new direction. Feels like a renaissance or something.

There's still hiccups here and there obviously, but I'm way more excited than I've been in a long time.

 

DBZ Xenoverse 2 for Switch to include:

• The campaign from Xenoverse 1, although not confirmed to be the full thing or a condensed version. Xenoverse 2 contains literally all of the assets of the first game, so unless there were some drastic balancing changes or engine modifications it should be easy to slap it on there.
• Day 1 edition seems to come with a lazy "everyone unlocked from the start" bonus, saying that day one players get instant access to over 70 characters. That number would seem to indicate the DLC is not included, but there's been no mention either way. The 4th DLC still hasn't released yet so they may be holding off so as to not cannibalize sales on existing platforms.
• Six person multiplayer is supported.
• Motion controls added as an option, so you can throw Kamehameha waves like a cool guy

Splatoon 2's getting free DLC i'm pretty sure. But yeah ARMS has been growing on me. I'm around 90% sure I'll get it day 1, unless it gets really bad reviews across the board which I highly doubt

 

Yeah, I would say Splatoon's DLC being free is basically mandatory due to the map rotation system. If I paid $15 for a a season of map packs and never got to play them because I wasn't on while they were in the rotation, I'd be peeved. Still awesome though, they seem to be taking all the right cues from games like Overwatch and to a lesser extent the "premium friends" perk from Battlefield so as to not fragment the multiplayer community.

 

Wait so Splat single player is like a platform shooter? That looks incredible

 

Yep. The first game's single player wasn't too long (maybe somewhere around 6 hours) but it was always introducing new ideas and stayed pretty fresh the whole time and ended in a pretty incredible and super memorable boss fight/boss stage. I'm pretty pumped for a new campaign.

 

Haha hell yeah. The boss fights in 1 are awesome. I appreciate a short but good campaign.

The huge part of playing Splatoon should be online anyway.

 

To think that Splatoon was almost a Mario paintball shooter. While I would've loved that, what we got is so much cooler.

 

While I like Mario Kart and Mario proper the last thing the world needs is another Mario spinoff. I'm glad Nintendo is going pretty hard on new IPs the past few years. Even disregarding their gameplay, the styles of Splatoon and Arms are wonderful. So bright, colorful, unique and filled with energy.

 

Anyone wanna get a Mario Kart group together tonight? Probably will be playing around 6:30 Eastern

Oh yeah man the first game had an amazing campaign, very creative levels and great bossfights. The only "problem" was that it wasn't very long.

 

I'm probably still at work by that time but if I go home early I might be able to catch you guys.

I'm probably going to be getting that Splatoon 2 Switch bundle when it comes out! So many awesome games already out/coming out that I'm looking forward to.
