Just grabbed this. Uploading in case anyone else wants it.

It's pretty much the same length as the original. I'm already halfway done. Granted, I know the game backwards and forwards, but it has never been a long game.

But I actually appreciate its brevity.

 

I HATE physical switch games, but I have to get this because I love this game.

ahh, i'm still debating if i wanna wait to see if Paper Mario TTYD remake is gonna be voucher eligible, but who knows when we'll get more info on that.

i guess i'll use my last voucher on Mario RPG. though i do wanna try to finish at least one other game i've started-
i still got Sea of Stars goin on, started Spider-Man 2 recently, and i haven't gone back to Armored Core 6 in a minute

 

Mario RPG is a joy so far. Lots of lol moments

 

The humor in this game is so fucking good. Top tier.

 

I am one of the people who doesn't typically like turned based RPGs other than Pokemon. Mario RPG is teaching me to Just think of it like Pokemon. Stuck in a certain spot? Go back and grind for awhile until you level up.

 

Modern RPG's have gotten so much better at pacing that people are forgetting the grind from that era. It was literally like working.

 

Funny cause Pokemon is one of the few RPG franchises I don't care for.

Yes. That is something I always hated about older RPGs, and would take any opportunity to minimize via cheat codes and the like. It's unreal. I just want a good story with worldbuilding and endearing characters and they keep interrupting it with all this... combat. (gestures in a way that suggests the combat is an icky spider in my kitchen)

 

The worst offender I ever played was the original version of the first Final Fantasy. You would get to a new location, not skipping any random battles along the way, and you wouldn't have nearly any money to buy the new equipment and/or spells and be far behind the newer enemies awaiting you. Sometimes it was hours of pressing up and down on the controller while doing something else. At least when I played it I had a cell phone to play on while it went.

If you pick Charmander in Pokemon Blue you are going to have to do a ton of grinding to get past that early water gym.

 

The original Final Fantasy absolutely turned me off RPGs, for those reasons and also because it was so open and didn't direct you where to go, so you could easily wander into a part of the map you weren't supposed to explore yet and get creamed.

Then Final Fantasy IV turned me back onto RPGs and I never looked back, but still I loathe that old style game design.

With Pokemon games I usually look up the levels of the upcoming gym battle and then grind beforehand until my roster is matching that or higher.

 

I'm all about the grind culture bro

 

Change that mindset into a grindset

 

Someone somewhere with the wrong idea signing up for Grindr searching for like-minded individuals by "looking for players with a lot of experience."

I still love Geno. MVP, but Mallow is SO funny and cute. He's the best friend you always want with you.
