Yeah, agreed. I prefer more difficult games, but it’s charming. It’s also nice to have a change up on the old 2D Mario formula with some of the new gameplay concepts.

 

To me Wonder feels more like a Kirby game. I mean, that's fine. The games are good and innovative. But I just love the amount of challenge the DKC stuff brings.

 

How hard is Tropical Freeze? I read so many different things about it.

 

Some of the extra levels not required to beat the actual game are fucking insane. Not impossible, but I've died like 100 times in some of them.

 

It’s more difficult than DKC returns, but I don’t think it was as tough as DKC 2

 

Agreed. DKC2 is probably my favorite SNES game of all time. My sister and I would play it for hours. The music is also burned into my brain.

 

The regular levels standard for a platformer. The boss fights though are very hard. The World 1 boss in Tropical Freeze took me way more tries than the final Bowser fight in Wonder did.

Me too. I only ever played the OG at day care and was young enough to not know what the fuck was happening or what I was doing. Stoked to actually play it and enjoy it.

Really hope my copy of SMRPG actually comes tomorrow and doesn’t get delayed like my copy of Wonder. I’m going to be at my friend’s house all day Saturday for a rib competition he’s hosting and I don’t want to have to wait until Sunday to play.

The Super Mario RPG remake is perfect so far. No notes. They even added the original control scheme for veteran players.

I've played partway through SMRPG something like 2 or 3 times in my life and I'm determined to fully finish it this time. Really looking forward to it!

 

same this will be my third time playing it but first time finishing it hopefully

 

Really debating on getting Mario RPG. I woke up to texts from friends that were playing it at midnight saying how good it is. I really liked Paper Mario's combat system on N64, but I've never been huge on turn-based combat outside of that and pokemon.

 

Did the Nintendo voucher and got wonder and rpg. Gonna be a Mario filled few weeks.

 

This already catapults Wonder off into the distance. This remake is so cozy and lovely.

They did make some interesting name changes for some things and removed a beloved reference.

 

This is my plan once I get paid next.

 

They kept Toad's bazooka line in. GOTY.

 

I was going to grab it for $40 from QVC but it's sold out. Debating on also going the voucher route.

 

But they got rid of the Bruce Lee line :(
