Spirit Tracks is a classic. Totally not just because I played it when I was 13, it was one of my first 3 Zelda games and I have nostalgia for it

 

Given how "deep" the Zelda franchise is it's clear they can't do better than it

 

Spirit Tracks is fucking fire and if you didn't play it at the time you seriously missed out. It removed all the terrible junk from Phantom Hourglass and made a fully fleged interesting sequel in the vein of Wind Waker but with a train.

 

Yeah I am fully of the view that Phantom Hourglass is bad but Spirit Tracks is great

Phantom Hourglass fucking sucks. It's backtracking galore, forcing you to use EVERY single little gimmick of the system and it's a boring story.

Phantom Hourglass was like 7. Not great, not terrible, but innovative and charming.

 

I remember I played phantom hourglass for like 30 minutes until I had to blow air into the DS as part of the gameplay. I stopped after that. That was my only experience with handheld Zelda until I played minish cap on switch online.

The Oracle games are good too

I'm patiently waiting. Rumors are going rounds that a zelda remake is being announced at the game awards. Holding out to see if its the oracle games.

 

I think Ocarina of Time would be a perfect contender for an adaptation, but as others have said, I would prefer it as a miniseries
