I brought the Switch / Mario Kart to a party last Friday, and it was such a hit that I should have had a Nintendo marketing team / video crew with me.

Definitely figured it was a timing thing. Oh well, it's still fun as hell and well worth the $20. It can only get better with patches!

I think they aren't bad actualy if you break it down... except for the extra dock, that one is crazy

I'm waiting to buy an extra dock when the supposed 4K dock is released in like 2019

The analog stick is pretty well designed in that regard but I agree, I'd buy one of those right away. I think we'll see that soon.

I thought the price of another set of joycons was pretty damn high until I considered that it actually functions as two more controllers. That is pretty sweet. Made me consider just getting one of those instead of one of the pro controllers.

My girlfriend is an NBA fan and was pretty blown away by Playgrounds when I yanked the Joycons away from the tablet screen and made the game two-player. Probably my favorite feature of any Nintendo console.

friend of mine 3D printed a d-pad to put on top of the buttons and it worked surprisingly well

I'm having the biggest internal struggle over a Pro controller vs. joy-cons and grip. part of me really wants the 4 play option but I'm having a hard enough time getting or taking this thing to get 4 people to play consistently. maybe I should go the selfish route and get the pro controller and have 3 people be able to play? I think I just made up my mind.

any one else having the same thoughts?

Well, I have four (two sets of) joy-cons and a pro controller, so I don't have the problem you will. But I will say, I couldn't imagine not having my pro controller, I absolutely love it! I would definitely recommend it if you spend a fair amount of time playing on your couch by yourself.

But I'm not buying the joycons for 4 player. I just really want to pimp my Switch while on the go

I'm surprised to see the level of doubt there is towards ARMS. Like, I am pretty sure Angry Birds could get ported to Switch and r/NintendoSwitch would have a goddamn party about it, but the general reaction to ARMS has been "I need to see more before I decide".

It's a colorful, polished Nintendo hybrid of a hero shooter and Punch-Out. And there's a good deal of gameplay footage out there. I cannot wait to pick it up, especially after how far out of the park Ninty nailed their last new IP in Splatoon.

I own like three games for PS4, if that tells you how big of a gamer I am...but almost every Switch game that's been announced, I'm immediately like "I'm getting that". Like all of them look fun.

I'm not sure why but I'm just not sold on it yet. I'm sure it's going to be a pretty deep experience but I can't shake the feeling that I'll get tired of it after a couple hours. We'll see! A month ago I swore I wasn't going to pay $60 for a port of a Mario Kart I already owned and...well....

I get that. I think it looks like the perfect game to mix with some drinking and 4 people or so to swap out and such. I also played the boxing on the Wii U HD version of Wii Sports for a gross amount of time though so I'm probably biased

I think ARMS will be well made but I definitly won't play it, not my type of game. The general scepticism is weird though, every time Nintendo pushes a game this hard it's at least very solid.

Is ARMS motion controls only? I preordered it and am pretty pumped about it, but I play 90% of the time in handheld mode which obviously will not work for that.

Nope, there are non-motion controls too.
