At the launch I decided against getting the Switch during the first year. Well I've been visiting family on vacation since Friday, and I did a 360 on that. Instead, I found a tracking site and it took me one day to find one here. The only game I have is Mario Kart right now.

When I came back to my room earlier, there was an orange screen. Is that a huge problem and I need to return it? There isn't much about it in my Google search.

man, some of the cups in 150cc are real hard. i've been stuck on 4 of them for the past few days. consistently placing near the top, but tend to fuck up in races 3 or 4.

 

Yeah, the screen was completely orange. Apparently it's called the orange screen of death. It only happened once, and I've been playing since without any problems.

 

What's the setup of your kart? You could either give the parts or the stats haha.

I personally am more comfortable with subpar acceleration and a high top speed vs AI. Just focus on collecting coins on the first lap then it'll be easier to maintain first place.

Online I tend to sacrifice a bit of speed for better acceleration.

Could also might be you need to make more mini turbos.

I use the Standard ATV, Slick wheels, and Super Glider. Its high speed, low acceleration. I never really go out of my way for coins, but I'll try it here.

 

Well, looked into getting another dock and another pair of Joy Con. About $200 after taxes. Just going to buy another Switch as an additional anniversary gift.

 

The accessory prices are so ridiculous. $90 for the dock? gtfo

 

I've been following Nintendo for a while but haven't had the means to buy a system in about 5 years. The Nintendo 2DSXL will be my first in a while. Obviously getting the latest Pokemon games, but other than that, what should I get?

 

any specific genres, franchises you're craving for?

 

Honestly looking for anything accessible and fun (very specific I know haha). I have a pretty busy work schedule this Summer so anything that I can pick up in my off hours and play for a bit is up my alley. Not super super into RPG-type games with the exception of Dragon Quest and Zelda.

 

Mario Kart 7 for sure.

 

I was reading into the AMA and I still can't believe they didn't follow the same formula as most NBA games with the shot meter being the height of a jump shot.

I've been doing that consistently and every single one is late.

4. Bravely Second (sequel)
5. Xenoblade Chronicles 3D (remake from Wii)

I'm definitely missing a lot of gems (which I'll regret not mentioning here), but I think it's a start.

 

Seems like so much of the game was just unfinished. I still don't know how to actually block anyone or make a layup. Dunks are about 50% accurate for me. I also don't know why it takes sooo long between baskets to get started sometimes.

The Dragon Quest 7/8 remakes are really great if you like Dragon Quest but I guess RPGs that are dozens of hours long aren't great pick up and play games. I'd just pick up the 3DS installments of the classic Nintendo franchises - Super Mario 3D Land, Animal Crossing: New Leaf, Zelda: Link Between Worlds/OoT/Majora's Mask, Mario Kart 7, Smash Bros.

yup. This game seems like it's just an early access game. I think I saw that in the AMA they wanted to release it now, before the actual basketball games come out and for playoffs hype.
