Yo Yoshi's Island get hard as hell towards World 3. I would like to have a talk with the person who came up with the "chasing the crying baby Mario every time you get hit" mechanic.

A former poster and friend of mine got it and really likes it.

I was just battling in my head if I wanna get the base or splurge the extra $30 for the more color themed models.

 

Yeah same here. I like the white base model, but the purple and classic white are both so cool. Just not sure I can justify the extra money...

 

I have the GameCube colored. It's great.

 

I just ordered this one. Stoked.

 

I didn't realize the higher price for the limited editions is more because it comes with a carrying case that is valued at $29.99

 

After I beat Yoshi's Island I think I am going to do either the original Paper Mario on 64 or Mario & Luigi on Advanced just to get a feel for Mario JRPGs before the RPG remake comes out.

 

Reading about the development of the first Paper Mario where it originally was going to be Mario RPG 64, and was going to include Samus and Link. Sounded like the original concept was going to be like a Nintendo Kingdom Hearts. I hope the remake does good enough where they decide to actually make that.

 

Unless it's made by Square, I don't want it. I've seen what's happened to the Paper Mario and Mario + Luigi (rip) franchises

 

What a weird statement to make about two perfectly good franchises.

 

Ones dead and one is not great

 

Thousand Year Door is better than SMRPG. So I’ll take the two good non-Square franchises over the single game that they made

 

Are Paper Mario games generally pretty long?

 

I’d say they probably average around 30 hours to complete give or take a few hours. I’m not sure how much longer to 100% them

 

Paper Mario is for sure coming back. Mario + Luigi, which to me was better, probably isn’t.

 

Yesterday I was at a con and there was a very loud Waluigi cosplayer in character but he kept saying “fucking” in all his sentences. I kept fantasising about Nintendo enforcers coming in to bust his kneecaps because he was very annoying lol

 

If people are wondering why Nintendo Japan micromanages the other regions: because the one time they didn’t some asshole released Waluigi into the world

 

Yeah, the one good Paper Mario game in 20 years

 

Is it hard being so bitter all the time?

 

I'm not bitter? Just because I know there's been one good game in a franchise in twenty years doesn't make me bitter.

Let’s say it was the only good one (it’s not), you said you don’t want anything that isn’t from Square, who made their one game 27 years ago. Totally makes sense
