I finally got Gold Mario for beating all 200cc cups. I'm never going to use the character though

I think I need to start playing single player since I've been poo every since I turned off the smart steering.

also my drifting feels off a lot of the time.

200cc is so random. I either get 1st or 2nd or dead last.

All your guys' posts remind me why I haven't gotten Mario Kart yet... I could probably beat 200cc with my eyes closed at this point, I played so much on the Wii U. I know every track like the back of my hand. I'm jealous you guys are just now encountering this stuff.

Edit: also, still bitter I paid a whole $50 for Bomberman

I'm just not good enough to brake or figure out how to drift the whole time. I've got it down on 150 easy but 200 is just weird haha

Haha yeah with 200 you're pretty much always braking while drifting. Honestly, the biggest part for me was that I had already memorized the track so I was always able to start turning way early. Helped a whole bunch.

Getting good at 200cc is the best feeling though. Going back to 150cc feels so slow in comparison.

How do you even brake? The reverse button?

Playing Kart on and off but I've also revived the old familiar and started playing Bravely Second.

Enjoying it a lot. The combat is still super good and still feels fresh.

I got that game as a gift like last year and still haven't gotten around to it. Largely because I keep forgetting I have it.

Yeah I bought it a while back as well. I'm glad I did. It's definitely scratching the itch, and I'm loving the new jobs.

After playing a lot of action RPG and platformers it was such a nice of pace to go back to turn based RPG.

Got impatient waiting for the Virtual Console to make an appearance on the Switch so I bought a 3DS and now I'm addicted to Fire Emblem: Fates. Whoops...

Is there still no VC announcement? I'm finally going to be able to afford this thing and am not buying MK8 again so I'm still waiting for some incentive beyond BotW

I would not count on it. It has never done all too well for them, it was always something fans complained about endlessly, and over the last few years other companies have successfully charged consumers more money for old games than Nintendo did on the VC (which also led these companies to not releasing games on the VC, because why would they). Combine all that with the fact that we do know that Nintendo's paid online service will come with monthly access to semi-remastered classic games, I would not be surprised if the VC as we know it won't be a thing.

Damn, okay. I thought it was already announced Sunshine would be out though. Was that just speculation? Don't follow this thread near closely enough

We're so close to E3 that I wouldn't expect anything in that regard until then. The absolute worst case scenario is that we don't get it until the paid online service launches, which is allegedly in the fall.

There's also some pretty decent content available to download imo: Shovel Knight, Tumbleseed, Binding of Isaac, Wonder Boy, Kamiko, Snipperclips etc...

Sunshine was a rumor. The only thing that they announced is that retro Nintendo games will come to the Switch and that the paid online service will come with access to, for example, (somewhat) remastered SNES games with added online modes and stuff like that. That being said, I would not be surprised to see GCN games on there in some form, especially Sunshine, but maybe those'll end up being more like proper remasters with retail releases.

You'd have to do some work for a good number of Nintendo developed GC games (including Sunshine) because they used the analog triggers of the Cube and the Switch's triggers aren't analog.

Yeah I've thought about that too but they would probably figure that out. Most games don't actualy use it though. Sunshine does use them a lot, and is a big game in general, which is why I think we might just get a full on remaster of that one. The fact that they showed footage of an HD Sunshine during one of those Mario Oddisee treehouse videos makes that seem even more likely I think.
