I wasn't prepared to give Nintendo $60 for Metroid Prime Remastered today

So Zelda thoughts:

- Ganondorf is back
- looks like his hand is the slate now
- huge three headed fuckin dragon

 

we both thought the shadow drop was going to be Advance Wars

and then it's METROID PRIME? lmao happy days good to be wrong

 

I’m beyond excited for this collection. I could never find the first two as a kid, so I’m excited to finally play those for the first time as well!

 

I think Nintendo hit me with about 12 different games I was legitimately excited about and that XC3 story DLC looks like exactly what I hoped it to be. Beyond stoked for this year's releases and also terrified at how many games I'm going to want to play haha

 

Looks like BOTW and they haven’t really showed anything to get me excited unfortunately. I’m sure it’ll be great but

Seems to be Ganondorf from twilight princess as well which makes it even more interesting

 

I think zelda will be playable in the expansion pass

if the highlights are the ability to play games that are multiple decades old (but only if you pay a subscription) and the ability to play games that are still decades old but slightly less old (but only if you pay an even bigger subscription); a remake of a game that is decades old that you'll probably have to pay full price for; and a game that was originally supposed to come out like two years ago... feels kinda lackluster if you ask me

like gameboy and gba games should've been on NSO from the start... feels like the only reason Nintendo waited is to find a time like this to make up for having otherwise an underwhelming release lineup (sans Zelda)

would've been much happier with just a 20 minute direct focused on Zelda

 

Pretty bummer of a direct as a whole, but some real gems hidden in there.
