It's actually a fun thing to think through.

If were'e only doing consoles, as it not handhelds, and we're counting the Switch as a console, then the three best consoles probably would be SNES, NES, Switch. If we're going "most important", it'd probably be.. NES, Wii, Switch?

But I also love the WiiU and GameCube because they were such failures that they turned into kind of passion projects, and you could tell.

The N64 was awesome too, and hugely important for 3D gaming (Mario 64 and OoT), though I would say it is probably the console that has aged the worst.

Switch technically does have two screens. The screen on the device and your TV.

If only we could use both at the same time

    My top 3.

The only reason I don't have 3DS on here is I don't own one and couldn't emulate it until two years ago, and I just haven't gotten around to it.

Probably Switch, GBA SP, Wii for me, but I’m kind of counting GameCube compatibility in my Wii placement

I respect this. The Wii is, somehow, despite the insane success, underrated.

the Wii U was a fucking awful console and it flopped for a reason. It had a good concept executed very poorly. The switch took it and made it what it should have been.

Too bad about Nintendo not continuing w/ the Virtual Console - would be more than happy to pay 6-10 dollars a pop for digital SNES and GBA games especially. I will just emulate them instead!

I did love the Wii U despite its flaws. Nintendo Land was such a great representation of what could be (and generally wasn't) accomplished with that system.

The WiiU had a lot of good ideas and some great games. It wasn’t amazing hardware, but that’s hasn’t held back some other consoles. It failed mostly because of terrible branding.

sp for me as well, though i think its just supposed to represent the gba line. awesome console, huge library of games i love.

the sp in particular was my jam and the one time my parents bought me a new console outside of my birthday or christmas. my dad always hated the lack of a backlight in previous handhelds, said it was gonna ruin my eyesight (might have tbh). so when he found out they made a new gba with a backlight he was like "get in the car, we're getting one right now"
