I am going to predict something wild:

If the Switch 2 is coming 2024, they will delay Zelda into that year.

 

Probably nothing but Samsung renewed their Pokémon license and are coming out with some accessories. I only bring it up because there was a rumor of a switch lite mobile a few months ago lol it’s more likely them just printing free money though

I personally am fine with 8-10 year console cycles. Less is fine too (though I think less than 5 is not great), I’m not against new hardware of course, but I also don’t believe games get better with more powerful hardware. I just don’t. It’s been a long time since that was the case in my opinion.

 

Isn’t Zelda out in what feels like two weeks or so lol

I absolutely 100% agree with this. I don't need new hardware every five years, especially since I never buy a console day one. Give me a long-lasting console with a strong library any day.

 

If I had other consoles I probably wouldn’t care how long it took either but a lot of Nintendo dorks are purists. I’m just mostly broke lol

 

The Switch 2 (or WiiUToo) will launch with Wind Waker HD and Xenoblade Chronicles X ports because Nintendo wants to troll me specifically

 

To be fair, I'm also primarily a PC gamer nowadays, so mostly I just need to wait for ports.

 

strongly agree. I’m a more casual gamer and while the urge to upgrade is strong when I see newer graphics, I can’t say I enjoy my Xbox more than I did when I had an Xbox one. I think we’re reaching the ceiling of what console games can offer in their current form, just like the cell phone is hitting the ceiling of what cell phones as we know them can do.

 

I right now would be fine with only a Switch (or previously other Nintendo hardware), but at other times I wouldn’t have been, it depends on the video game phase I am in

 

I think visually there is no ceiling (though it becomes more nuanced at some point), but that doesn’t make games better. Framerate does, but people just shouldn’t make games with shitty framerates.

You know Nintendo is sitting on games though lol Mario Odyssey was done for years, as has been the upcoming Fire Emblem. This is just something they do now.
