Anybody with a Switch Lite ever get a noticeable slight whirring sound? Turned it off and on and it disappeared for now

 

My wife got me Tactics Ogre for Christmas, she was calling it the Shrek game lol

My wife got me an OLED Switch and No Man’s Sky for Christmas. We have a launch Switch and a Switch Lite, so this definitely feels like a huge upgrade. I’ve linked my account, but my other games can stay on the launch console. I’ll play all of the stuff I’ve been wanting to play without my son messing up my save files.

 

We got to choose a gift under $75 from my job and managed to find Lego Star Wars and Mario strikers on sale together for just under that. Probably wouldn’t have gotten either on their own so this worked out beautifully.

 

I have about 400 in various gift cards I've accumulated over the year. Should I get a switch OLED or a steam deck? I'm not savvy with emulation but that's what is wanna try to do.

 

Got Pokémon Violet, Lego Star Wars, Splatoon 3, Kirby and the Forgotten Land and Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope for Christmas. Hopefully I can play through them all before the new Zelda haha

Hmmmmmmm do you have a big steam library/have an interest in PC games?

 

I do not have a steam library at all lol. It would mostly be to emulate n64, GameCube, wii, Gameboy, etc

 

It kind of sounds like you don't really have a choice then, right? I mean, as far as I know, you can't emulate all those consoles on a Switch?

 

Serious question, what legal ramifications can you face downloading and emulating games?

 

It’s copyright infringement, so I assume you could be sued by the copyright holder if they wished to pursue that.

I received a letter from my ISP years ago threatening to cut service for torrenting some shows, but I was dumb not using a VPN or a private tracker.

@spiffa0 get the steam deck. The emulation set up is so so easy and runs beautifully. You can also find so many steam games for cheap if you wait for sales and look around enough.
