You should play golf story because it's a great game. But no I don't think this is a sequel.

I thought it was a sequel. You should play golf story first for sure. I think it’s also 50% off right now so just get that first.

Golf Story is basically an RPG, kinda like Earthbound, but the combat is golf. In this new one, there are more sports.

 

There's apparently also like stealth stuff and like new mechanics
