Enjoying Emerald on the big screen!

So far the game is just okay. It feels like a regression from Crystal. Like, why get rid of the day/night cycle?? On the plus side, it's very purdy and I love being able to run right off the bat

I think I'm just over Pokemon at this point. It's too repetitive. Spending 40 minutes leveling up my Marill just so it could learn water gun for me to stand a chance against the rock gym wasn't fun

  7. I loved Arceus but shield was way too easy which made it super boring. If it becomes challenging I'd jump back in.

I started Rogue Legacy 2 after seeing it on the indie showcase. Really enjoying it so far. It’s like Dead Cells, but more unlockables, better art style, and character classes.

Idk how people still play old games now, I can’t stand playing old 2D games. I tried to play the old Pokémon games and they just don’t hold my interest more than a few hours. It’s hard to play something so ancient when there are so many new and better ways to enjoy things.

I’m playing the dynamax raid adventures right now and it’s still really good, why would I want to go back and play a game where I have to battle 50 geodudes in a row? there’s a reason they made the improvements they have, it was a repetitive nightmare playing through bdsp last year lol

There are games that hold up. There are games that don't. And then there are games like Pokémon, that were never good to begin with.

I beat the first world of Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope. It's fun, but it's not as fun/charming as the original for some reason. I'm going to keep playing and see how it goes!

I feel the exact opposite. I love playing through the older Pokémon games. Way simpler mechanics and Pokémon that actual looked like pocket monsters and not characters. Just watching videos of sword and shield make me never want to play them. I’ll play Violet because graphically it has a charm to it unlike sword and shield.

This is a really good explanation of why I like the older ones too.

  17. I feel like red/blue/yellow were at least a little challenging. Shield was way too easy and it got boring for me.

The fact that any 8 year old can beat RBY with one insanely overlevelled starter Pokémon (as we all did when we were 8 years old) means they are not challenging.

  19. Well I was 8 when they came out and we're my first video game experience so I guess it was for me! But I'd still argue shield is way easier than any of those.

Been holding off on getting it because I know as soon as I do I'll ignore every other game I own and I've gotten really good at actually finishing games recently

lol pokemon is not supposed to be challenging anywhere but end game/pvp which doesnt exit in some of the games but there are fan made sites like showdown and pokemmo where you can play for years without even scratching the surface of depth this game has to offer. just sucks gamefreak dont care enough to make their own version of something like showdown or pokemmo lol. but i think the base games are a great way to get familiar with new pokemon and roleplay the fantasy of being a pokemon master that i absolutely had as a kid watching the anime and playing the originals. sure, its basically pure nostalgia, but thats okay, its fun for me and i enjoy it. i just beat brilliant diamond and it was the first pokemon game ive beat in like, a decade maybe more and now im HOOKED on the franchise again because it was just so much fun, and people HATE brilliant diamond for some reason lol i fucking had a blast. i also started collecting cards again and buy many packs every week with my extra money, whcih i figure beats the drug addiction i used to have

I really wish they would explore more genres or different styles of Pokemon games because a giant MMO or something would be awesome

  25. Arceus was the most fun with Pokemon I've had since....yellow lol
