The whole thing seems like a huge missed opportunity, could have been huge but instead they made so few of them and the pure frustration of trying to find out outweighed the want to get a tiny NES, for me at least.

 

I bought one for 100€ only to find out the hack doesn't work with a Mac and I don't have access to a Windows PC

 

What the fuck Nintendo. What a strange company.

 

Damn... guess I'm gonna have to scoop one on eBay before the price gets out of hand.

 

I honestly never expected the nes classic to be anything more than a limited release.

 

Nintendo is so frustrating. I did not really want an NES Classic, but I liked the idea of it so that one day something like an SNES Classic would come out. Why not, especially given the demand and that they don't even have Virtual Console on their new system?

 

Not getting one for less than $200 at the moment

 

NES Classic would be a collector's thing only for me, I imagine I'd use it for a total of one hour. My budget laptop from 2 years ago has an HDMI out and can probably run them just as well. Now, give me a $60 download bundle of all those games as VC titles on the Switch with Joycon multiplayer, and I will buy at the speed of light.

 

Thankfully I got one at $120 right when the news hit. Listings were getting pulled left and right while I was looking (I assume to re-list at a higher price), but I was able to find one. It sucks having to pay twice the cost, but I've been really wanting to get one for my son. Nintendo will probably ship a ridiculous amount now that I went and bought one, though

 

Right after I said that, someone relisted at 120 also and I was able to get one. Hopefully it wasn't a scam

 

Speaking of collectors stuff, in lesser news, my Best Buy restocked first run copies of Isaac today. Was too stubborn to go digital but I'm glad I held out.

 

Was frustrated about the NES classic for several months until I just stopped caring. This stupid thing was so IMPOSSIBLE to find without buying it from a scalper. Not worth the trouble. I just wonder if this cancellation has anything to do with the Switch's success.

 

The Switch sold 906,000 units in March and the Switch version of BOTW sold 925,000. Over a 100% attach rate seems so crazy. I guess people who couldn't find a Switch just picked up the game in anticipation.

 

Bought Kamiko off the Japanese eShop for 500 yen. It's pretty decent but lasted 1 hour.

when it released here, its SRP was already 70-80usd but I caved in and bought anyway. Just checked, some stores still have it for 120usd.

Ever since I started collecting limited edition stuff, my mantra with Nintendo ones is always "just goddamn buy it on day 1"

Not planning on changing it anytime soon. Esp with the new FE amiibo, new Link amiibo.

 

As it stands now I have every amiibo released here (although a couple are the imported versions) except OoT Link and Super Mario Daisy. I should have bought link when he was everywhere but said I'll wait since everyone had crazy stock on it. Then BOTW came out

 

Yay Nintendo! So glad they have a relevant console again.

Anyway, I have another question. For multiplayer (4-ish people) for Mario Kart, for example, would i just need to buy another set of Joy Cons to play multiplayer? I guess my confusion is...how much more money do I need to spend so that four of us can play?

 

It's really up to player preference. 4 Joycon would be fine if you're okay with motion steering, but if you want to replicate a pro controller it'd be two per person.

However, if you ask me, if you don't play with motion controls then you're a big phony.

 

I can't believe I've never played Isaac before. I was up til midnight playing last night, which for my 9-5 in-bed-by-9 lifestyle is pretty impressive. I knew it was "Zelda inspired" but didn't know the extent of it, damn does it hit every proper note of those early 2D titles. Really loving it.

Does anyone else hate the joycon? Maybe it's just 'cause I have such large, strong, manly hands, but these things feel uncomfortably tiny.

 

I like them when they aren't in the grip
