i literally thought the only splatoon thing was going to be the tournament and i was prepared to be real angry

 

I didn't think the new Splatoon mode looked particularly interesting but hey, a date! Rest was alright, still not really into ARMS and the other Switch stuff was a lot of ports I probably won't buy but I got the one thing I expected/wanted so it was fine.

 

OH AND FINALLY A CLOUD AMIIBO

 

If today's Direct was hyped as "See all sorts of new exciting releases for Nintendo Switch", I'd be concerned.

But the fact that it was hyped as just Splatoon/ARMS with a dash of 3DS and they had all of those little surprises lined up makes me feel very hopeful.

Also, looks like my wallet won't be closing to my 3DS anytime soon!

 

Yeah, I'm definitely not worried about the future of the Switch, seems like it'll fit the Vita handheld indie niche well.

 

My friends and I used to play monopoly on my ipad quite often, so it oddly was the most excited I got during the direct. Def picking it up

 

I think Arms looks really fantastic. Can't wait for that one with a few friends and some drinks.

 

Finally got a Switch today. Called like ten Walmarts, 6 Targets, 5 Gamestops, and a few Toys R Us in my area with no luck. Went on instocknow and noticed a Gamestop an hour and a half away had one available. Called them up and sure enough they had one that had been returned the previous day. I asked if he could hold it for me and he said he couldn't, but I gave him my number to call me in case someone came and got it while I was on the way. He called me about a quarter of the way into the drive and said he held it for me after all! So happy I finally have one, regardless of the drive. Probably not gonna play it tonight because I know I'd be up all night playing Zelda (the only game I got) and I have work early. Tomorrow will be an all day event though after work!

Damn, that yellow looks amazing. So glad I didn't get a Switch at launch.

Yellow Joycon are only sold separately, any Switch you buy will be identical to those at launch.

 

awww. fuck. Why would I need additional joycons? Dammit.

 

Different color controllers with the console are inevitable. Probably by the holiday season.

 

I'm going to lose so much money over joycons. how much does it and the pro controller cost in Japan?

I'm trying to search on google but I think my location is filtering the results.

 

The battery pack seems a little unnecessary. Don't those things last 40 hours or so? The only benefit they seem to have is giving the controller a bit more bulk, so they probably feel better in the hand when playing something like ARMS.

 

Some great looking creative RPGs coming to 3DS this year. I'm very happy about MH Stories coming over.

 

The Arms characters are really funny

Mr Shifty looks fun, I also really like the look of the yellow Joycon. I'll probably pick them up at some point as I want an additional set anyway for local play.
