Mario Strikers does look fun, but as someone who doesn’t get into a lot of competitive matchmaking (outside of a few key games), I wonder if there’d be enough to keep me interested for that long.

Idk in stuff like Saboteur yes we had to make sure they didn’t forget any. I mean there are nazis in Games sometimes that stuff needed to be sanitized. They’re a lot more lax now tho.

Metroid Dread is your logical next step.

I pre-ordered the GTA trilogy thinking it was gonna be incredible and I regret it so much. This isn’t really a must have collective. It runs like hell on the switch and the games haven’t aged as well as I thought they would. GTA3 in particular isn’t even fun.

Dread/Pikmin 3/Kirby Forgotten Land should be your next purchase.

I love Pikmin 3 so much, especially since the deluxe gives you the DLC content. So much fun.

Have they announced a release date for the physical version of Shredder's Revenge? I know digital is June 16th.

Yup. Gonna finish the demo, but not going to play any longer.

Just tested positive for COVID, is Arceus: Legends good enough for a week of gaming?

I couldn't get beyond a few days of Arceus, it just gets so repetitive

I also just played the Three Houses Heroes demo since I love the original and wow was that gameplay boring

And the story contradicts a lot of what happens in Three Houses. I’m only on the prologue, but I assume it’s a different timeline.

  12. Triangle strategy is great but def not for everyone

It's not like I don't get it, but as a fan of story in games and someone who grew up with JRPGs and the like, comments like these always make me sad.

I sure didn’t seem to mind it when I was younger. Earthbound, Illusion of Gaia and basically any SquareSoft game on the SNES was my wheelhouse. It’s just now days, I don’t believe there’s a payoff for reading all this dialogue. I was more open to small details and intrigued by what these characters might say when I was kid. Now that I’m old, I just get home from work tired as fuck and the last thing I want to do is read a ton of shit just to get to some gameplay. lol

I’m not knocking anyone who loves these newer games and dialogue. I just don’t have patience like I used to, I guess.

The beginning of Triangle Strategy for sure is slow, there is a ton of dialogue. It gets better as the game goes on but the first few hours might feel like a slog.

I didn’t even realize Mario strikers charged was out until my brother told me today so I decided to pick that up

Mario Strikers is a ton of fun. Definitely a little bare bones, but something I see them expanding with DLC like they did with the Golf game that was also kind of bare when it was released.

I’ve waited impatiently for strikers but the reviews about a bare bones single player experience now have me wary. I have no interest in online play but it looks awesome. Torn.

Is there any real ascension in single player or do you just set up tournaments/matches?

There is a cup mode where you can unlock a few things, but I haven’t played it yet. From everything I’ve read it seems rather shallow and there is no real story mode for the same which is disappointing but not unexpected given how the previous Mario sports games for the Switch have been.
