Been playing Lego Incredibles this past week and while it's fun, gd it's the jankiest game I've played in a looong time. Rough graphics, stuttering cutscenes, and pretty much every play session has glitches that mean I have to quit and replay missions, or else it force closes altogether. Never played a switch game anywhere near this broken.

so these Nintendo birthday discount things are bullshit, right? Here I was thinking I'd use the promo code for 15% off a game but apparently it only works for the "my birthday" section of the store which includes plushies and other nonsense

    The choices aren't terribly surprising.

For Congo and Rival Turf, a lot of Jaleco and Data East games are already on the service via the company City Connection, and other games in both franchises are already on the service. Nintendo clearly has a good relationship with them.

Pinball is just one of the few Nintendo made NES games that hadn't shown up yet.

Frankly, I'd be shocked if anything of relevance got added to the service for the NES and SNES anymore, since most remaining huge titles would either be trapped in licensing hell or would just be held hostage by Capcom. Konami, etc. for their own retro collections.

I would still love to see Zoda's Revenge added for the NES, but Nintendo only seems to want to acknowledge the StarTropics series intermittently, so...

Neither are happening. Lufia is owned by Square and Square clearly shows no interest in putting their classic titles on the service since they can easily distribute and sell them individually on their own.

Smash TV was owned by Midway and since Midway's assets were sold to Warner Bros., I assume they must have the rights now. I guess if they do, it's possible they could put the games on the service? Probably more likely to capitalize on the arcade version though.

Could Nintendo do SimCity? I'm pretty sure they'd have to reach some arrangement with EA, wouldn't they? Same goes for Super Mario RPG and Square, I'm sure they'd have to reach some kind of an arrangement. The latter is probably way more likely than the former, IMO.

I dunno. But it’s my favorite edition of Sim City ever. I remember renting this game like 10 times and I wonder to this day why my mom didn’t just buy this damn game for me.

Years later when I played the PC version, I realized it wasn’t nearly as cool without Bowser wrecking your city.

Yeah, I just have to get through the introduction and get the actual fishing, bug catching rolling.

The general atmosphere is great. You run around Kyushu and the summer vibes are there. Cicada noises in the background, breezes, slow clouds moving above, etc.

Apparently you are also hunting for dinosaurs that somehow manage to still live in Kyushi(?)

The game is called Crayon Shin and the Doctor’s Summer Vacation, or at least that’s the rough translation.

Remins me of Attack Of The Friday Monsters. Too bad it’s only in Japanese.
