I liked the look of Silt. Overall, not much going on in this one.

I hated those narrators and I have really come to hate them showing the trailer and then just showing gameplay again with narration over it explaining what we just saw. Just show me the trailer. That's it.

But Gunbrella and ElecHead looked great. Gato Roboto is a fun little game so glad to see them make Gunbrella.

“In its recent history, Nintendo followed up its big successes such as Wii (101.6m sold) and DS (154m sold) with significantly less popular successors (Wii U sold 13.5m and 3DS managed 75m), and Furukawa said the company was mindful of these experiences.”

holy shit at those Wii U sales. Yikes.

What we need with the next console

    - Same concept as Switch

    - Backwards compatible with Switch 1 and digital library

    - Improved multiplayer

    - More powerful.

    Super Nintendo Switch

anything else and Nintendo deserves to face a failure.

...they don't "deserve a failure" if they don't give you what you want..

The ingredients for a great Switch follow up are there. If they just brush past it and don't simply make un upgraded Switch (which is what a lot of fans want) and try to just do another gimmick because "Nintendo," then they deserve it. It's so easy to please a large percentage of Switch fans. Not doing that is just ignoring what fans want in favor of trying to Nintendo themselves in to reinventing the wheel again.

I mean if we go by how they have treated their handhelds, the switch is due for one more iteration, one with a bit more horsepower.

that said I personally would prefer if they just made a fully backwards compatible box that plugs into my tv and plays switch games at nice fps and resolution.

I never want to see Nintendo going back to just making a generic box like their competition

I was thinking more like a separate SKU, kinda like how you can't dock a Switch Lite but the inverse.

I think the concept of the Switch is so crazy cool and successful beyond any doubt, they should never abandon this format, or at least not for a long time.

The concept of the Switch is the result of everything Nintendo worked towards with both their handheld and home consoles. It’s something they shouldn’t even consider switching up.

This is all correct, obviously. They literally just need to make a more powerful, backwards compatible Switch and they can watch the money keep rolling in. But it’s Nintendo so they’re going to try to force a new gimmick and it’s going to blow up in their faces.

To be fair sometimes their gimmicks have saved them (Wii, DS), or have failed but were reused years laters to great success (Virtual Boy). What I am saying is, if you zoom out, Nintendo has always done well by trusting their instincts.

But we’re not talking about them needing to be saved. They found something that really resonates and works. They shouldn’t abandon that near-universally loved and winning formula just because they feel like they need a new gimmick.

Just make a Nintendo Super Switch. A beefed up Switch with more features that were absent on the first switch, better Joy cons, etc.
