I think this is the biggest reason why gen 9 shocked me, on top of legends arceus just coming out it really doesn’t look like Nintendo is having any problems filling their holiday schedule out if the first 9 months of the year are already packed with releases

 

I can deal with bad graphics but they really need to put more effort into UI/UX this time around. Arceus was an improvement but there is still so much whacko shit in that game.

No. Pokemon is its whole own thing. They do what they want more or less.

 

Nintendo just isn’t a good system if you want amazing graphics all the time, it’s also the oldest current gen system of the big three considering it came out five years ago. The PlayStation four and Xbox one preceded it and were still much better. Hopefully Nintendo will finally figure out an upgrade that’s good enough in 2024 but until then they’ll probably at least have an amazing year.

 

The counterpoint is that amazing graphics (within reason) do exist on the Switch. They exist in huge open world games even. The definition of "amazing" graphics on Switch just isn't the same as "amazing" graphics on the other consoles. Considering the Switch's power, I would say Breath of the Wild and Xenoblade 2 look amazing. So I don't think that excuse really holds water, personally. It can be done.

I am still a little baffled by XCX looking sharper than XC2 even though I am being told that the Switch is more powerful than the WiiU

 

I think both games look great but yeah I can see that. XCX and XC2 kind of have different art styles too though so that could maybe be part of it.

i got a New Nintendo 2DS XL (absurd how long the name goes for) when i heard the line was discontinued and the eShop is closing, went and decided to pick up various games while i can.
WarioWare Gold, Pokemon Gold and Crystal, and Kirby's Extra Epic Yarn. any suggestions of essential games to pick up?
physical games are basically impossible to come by in person, nowhere around me is carrying 3DS related anymore
