That's where i'm at right now. I had to take a day off from playing because that dungeon was just too much lol.

 

Great game, but Link’s Awakening doesn’t crack my top 5 Zeldas.

 

I don't how many (if any) of you are into Smash at all, but I got my ass beat in Ultimate by Hungrybox earlier. haha I'm nowhere near pro levels despite the thousand(ish) hours I've put into the game. Damn.

 

Just finished Eagle's Tower. For how as hard that dungeon was that boss was easy as hell.

 

I bought Links Awakening on sale over black friday and still haven't played it! Gotta get on that

 

I rarely come to this thread so forgive me if this take is beaten to death, but GameCube Mario Baseball and SuperStrikers are two of the best Nintendo games ever

Made into the Windfish's egg. From the youtube playthroughs i thought this boss fight was going to be easy. Instantly regretted not bringing a fairy when i went up against Shadow Ganon.

 

Did you use the secret lens to reveal the hidden path to the boss???

People talking about Horizon as if it matters when this exists:

 

They should do a Super Mario RPG remake in the style of Link's Awakening.

 

Doesn't the existence of Paper Mario, Mario & Luigi, and Mario+Rabbids as Mario themed RPG franchises pretty much nix the idea of them making new Super Mario RPG? I mean Paper Mario was created to essentially replace SMRPG when they fell out with Square Enix. I can see them bringing it to Nintendo Switch Online, but i just don't see them doing a new one unfortunately with all the other Mario RPG titles out there that are SMRPG adjacent.

 

Paper Mario isn't an RPG franchise anymore, and Mario & Luigi is dead alongside AlphaDream, so I'd prefer they actually make Super Mario RPG 2. Nintendo and SE are pretty tight nowadays, so that shouldn't be an issue anymore.

It's some kind of weird Frankenstein's monster of certain RPG elements carried over from the first two games and other non-RPG elements carried over from the last three games. There's no way to gain XP and level up, so it's not an RPG, yet they still have turn-based battles that are essentially pointless and can be skipped entirely. It's at the point where they may as well just make all the battles happen in real time like in Super Paper Mario, just let you jump on enemies and kill them with your hammer without bothering with the turn-based fights, because they just become tedious and annoying to do.

 

Quoting myself to add that I just looked up Origami King and I guess I never read about the combat system before because it sounds fucking bonkers.

 

Origami King had an interesting combat system, shame that when I played through it I was trying to avoid engaging with it as much as possible lol

 

Origami King is a fun and humorous game. I haven’t beaten it yet, but I’m going to go back to it here soon and finish it. The battle system is neat, but also not challenging at all.
