Well looks like I’ll be waiting a while before I buy an Analogue Pocket. They’re currently going for almost $1000 on eBay.

 

This happened last time too, they drop off really quick I wouldn't sweat it.

 

Supposedly they plan on having the pocket available regularly after the preorders go out. I’m definitely interested to read some hands on reviews, I have enough gb/gba that one of these with the tv adapter might be nice to have.

finished metroid dread. 10:11, 70% items

it was good! I thought it was surprisingly on rails though. like the game really doesn't want you to get lost, which actually makes exploration kind of a chore. also I didn't like the Emmi sections. still glad to have a 2D metroid

 

I had an analogue pocket ready for checkout the day the preorders launched but for some reason my bank flagged it as fraud and by the time it got sorted out they were gone. They’ve never been back up since. This was over a year ago

 

Honestly? Good. Let's cut out 60% of the crap or just try something completely different with Smash in the future.

 

Bad idea, just make Smash Ultimate into an ongoing platform and keep adding new fighters/stages

Loop Hero launches today (the 9th) on Switch, but it is NOT LETTING ME PLAY IT YET.

God I'm so excited to finally play this game.

I really don't see how you go back to a smaller roster with Smash and still get people to have the same level of enthusiasm.

For the new Smash I would either a) just port Ultimate and have 1 or 2 more fighter passes with it or b) reboot the series with an all new take. There is no way they could release another “smash bros” game with less characters unless it was a complete redesign.

 

Seriously. I don’t give a fuck about all these characters with swords and spiky hair I’ve never heard of.

 

I can already picture it: Smash Ultimate Deluxe edition with 5 extra fire emblem characters :(

 

Would it start out with less characters and just have dlcs constantly then? I have a hard time seeing nintendo willing to agree to leave out a bunch of their characters. It definitely needs to add something new and interesting, I’m glad sakurai is speaking up about it, that gives me some hope on the direction of the next game.

 

what would people even want out of a new smash at this point, aside from different characters?

 

They want VR super smash bros, obviously

Make a sequel where Mario gets a message from his future self and figures out Bowser needed to win all along.

 

What if the playable characters were just actors dressed up in costumes pushing each other down a hill?

 

Everyone including Sakurai who think they will stop releasing Smash games are crazy

 

Just keep re-releasing Ultimate on every new Nintendo console and then keep adding fighters to the game. They'll charge for the upgrade every time and people will pay. Add new modes to it too, like a new single-player mode or something. It makes no sense to abandon literally the "Ultimate" Smash game in favor of a reduced roster. Anything they do in that regard will automatically feel lesser. Plus, people are generally happy with Ultimate and how it plays.

Also, doing that has to be way more sustainable for the devs than making them have to develop an entirely new game every 6-8 years.
